Republican AGs Threaten to Sue Google if It Censors Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Republican attorneys general warned Google on Thursday not to censor pro-life pregnancy resource centers on its search engine as pro-abortion Democrat lawmakers are urging it to do.
In a letter to CEO Sundar Pichai, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said they will sue Google if it gives into the “left-wing political pressure” and restricts free speech, the Associated Press reports.
“Suppressing pro-life and pro-mother voices at the urging of government officials would violate the most fundamental tenet of the American marketplace of ideas,” Miyares wrote, joined by 16 others.
The letter responds to a request from pro-abortion Democrat lawmakers in June asking Google to censor pro-life pregnancy resource centers on search results for “abortion” and similar terms, according to the report. Miyares slammed the lawmakers’ request as “inappropriate” and biased.
“We trust that you will treat this letter with the seriousness these issues require, and hope you will decide that Google’s search results must not be subject to left-wing political pressure, which would actively harm women seeking essential assistance,” the attorneys general responded….
