The Los Angeles Association of Deputy District Attorneys (ADDA), a union which represents the vast majority of Los Angeles County prosecutors, voted overwhelmingly to support the recall of District Attorney George Gascon.

Gascon, who received over $2 million in financial backing from left-wing financier George Soros according to The Los Angeles Times, is currently facing a recall petition spurred by backlash to his perceived lenient stance on crime.

The ADDA voted to support the recall effort in a landslide, with roughly 83.3% of ADDA members taking part in the vote and 97.9% voting to back the recall, the organization announced.

“This vote is by those who are intimately familiar with how Mr. Gascon’s policies actually play out on a day-to-day basis,” ADDA president Michele Hanisee said in a statement Tuesday. “We believe the vote of our members will resonate with the voters of Los Angeles as they decide whether to recall Gascon from office and restore public safety as the priority of the District Attorney’s office.”… (Excerpt from the Virginia Star)
