As the U.S. Navy celebrates its 246th birthday on Oct. 13, it is an apt time to reflect on its accomplishments of the past year. Judging by those accomplishments, innovation should be the theme of the Navy’s 245th year. Just like wireless radio and nuclear-powered technologies, reliable unmanned warships are on the cusp of becoming a game-changer at sea.
