Nationwide Memorials in 100 Cities Will Remember Babies Killed in Abortions
April 15, 2022 | District of Columbia
In the wake of the shocking discovery of the bodies of five children aborted late in pregnancy in Washington, D.C., an anti-abortion group is organizing a nationwide prayer vigil on Good Friday, April 15. The Pro-Life Action League’s annual “Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion”, being held at nearly 100 abortion facilities throughout the United States, will include special prayers for the families of these five abortion victims, the pro-life activists who discovered their bodies, and the D.C. authorities responsible for investigating their deaths and providing humane burial for them.
“Americans across the political spectrum have been shocked by the images and videos of the five boys and girls brutally killed by abortionist Cesare Santangelo in our nation’s capital,” said Eric Scheidler, the League’s executive director. “For Christians, especially during this season of Lent, these children’s mangled bodies bring to mind the tortured body of Jesus Christ on the cross. And so we will pray for his grace to heal the wounds of abortion in our land.”
Scheidler continued, “There’s no better day to remember the victims of abortion than Good Friday, when we remember the suffering and execution of Jesus Christ, an innocent man who preached the value of every single human life.”
Thousands of pro-life Christians are expected to turn out for the Way of the Cross services outside abortion facilities in 29 states. For many, these solemn prayer vigils have become a central part of their annual Holy Week religious observance. The League has coordinated this event nationwide since 2014….
