FEMA allocates $74.6 million to repair UPR infrastructure in Bayamón

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved $74.6 million to repair the infrastructure of the Bayamón Campus of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR).
The funds will be distributed under the permanent works program, according to what FEMA advanced to the resident commissioner in Washington, Jenniffer González.
FEMA also approved new funds for the municipalities of Bayamón ($4.89 million); Barranquitas ($1.08 million); Humacao ($3.89 million); Fajardo ($1.42 million); Utuado ($1.05 million); San Sebastian ($1.15 million); and Maricao ($1.54 million).
The funds for Barranquitas will be used to repair the Meliton Pereles pedestrian bridge. In Humacao, Maricao, San Sebastián and Fajardo meanwhile, they will be used to improve recreational facilities. Utuado, for his part, will use them to repair roads in the Salto Arriba sector.
