Cuban Solidarity Resolution Garners No Dem Support
July 15, 2021 | Florida
On Tuesday, Republican Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (FL) introduced a resolution to explicitly support the Cuban people and their demand for freedom from “the brutal oppression of the Communist dictatorship in Cuba.” In introducing his resolution, Diaz-Balart notes that “for 62 years, the Cuban people have struggled for freedom and human rights under a brutal, repressive dictatorship.” Diaz-Balart, who is of Cuban descent, has several cosponsors of the resolution in the House, including Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), Greg Stuebe (R-FL), Byron Donalds (R-FL), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Liz Cheney (R-WY). Tellingly, not a single Democrat has signed on to the resolution — a testament to just how far Dems have drifted down the socialism hole. (Excerpts from the Patriot Post)
