Dearest Lord, please bless Your child, Senator Cornyn, and draw him closely to Your side, especially during this difficult time. Give him Your peace that transcends all understanding. Continue to guide him, and may he walk circumspectly, leaning not on his understanding, but placing his trust in You to guide him in each decision he makes in Congress on behalf of his State of Texas and on behalf of this nation. Father, God, I life up John Cornyn to you and pray that he knows You personally. As a person in a powerful position, he has great responsibilities. May he not depend on his own abilities, but continually, faithfully, hourly, rely on the Holy Spirit that I pray lives within him, to guide and lead him in all decisions. May You protect him from the lies of the enemy and cause him to seek Truth through your Word and in prayer. May he bow his knees before you, humbly seeking you and calling on you for wisdom. May he have a "Damasus Road" experience that will cause him to be changed forever and to be willing to serve you faithfully all the days of his life. May he recognize you as the One True God, his Lord and Savior, and may he dedicate himself to you above all and make decisions based on your Word. I pray these things in the precious name of Jesus, the Christ. AMEN
