Lord God, the intercessors of our nation raise the health, safety, and needs of this public servant before you in prayer. Grant unto him the wisdom as Soloman had in political and personal things. We pray that the eyes of his understanding be enlightened that he know the hope of your calling. May he be as the men of Issacar that had understanding of the times and knew what their nation ought to do. Give true insight into the future effects of each issue brought before him. Light his pathway with truth and provide him a just balance in all things represented to him. Guard and protect him, in health, welfare and prosperity, and those he loves and those he serves. Give special grace to his staff to accurately represent his positions with integrity. Amen and Amen.

Father, I bring Representative Suozzi before Your throne of grace; please give him boldness and courage to speak up about the shutdown, and not to back down when pressed by others to conform to their opinions. Let him do the right thing on behalf of the suffering American people. I pray for wisdom and guidance that can only come from You, Lord, as he works on behalf of his constituents who have placed their trust in him. Lord, I pray that he knows You, and that he is called according to Your purpose. Give him wisdom and clarity so that he function in a moral and just way as he considers legislation in the House. May he walk with integrity, and may he show respect to our President and the administration and work for bipartisan support, rather than increased division and chaos in the streets.
