Greg Lanting (R)

Gracious Heavenly Father, may Rep. Lanting know that it is Your hand and Your sovereign purpose that is keeping him and sustaining him in his divine commission. (Ps 38:12-15) Keep him, and those who serve him, safe from the enemy's snares and free from the accuser's traps. (Ps 141:9-10) By Your great hand, Lord, deal with those who oppose righteousness and justice so that all will know that You alone are sovereign and true. (Ps 64:6-9) I pray that you would open his heart to hear and respond to the Gospel Message if he does not know you. I pray the prayer of King Solomon in I Kings on our leader. "Give your servant an understanding mind to govern your people, so that he may discern between good and evil." Pour out Your Spirit upon him. Shower him with your goodness and put a hedge of protection about him and his family. Protect him from the influence of the evil one and teach him to trust in you. Reveal to him by Your Spirit the marvelous truth of the Gospel. Give him discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions. Grant him a heart of compassion toward those he leads and serves. Help him, like Jesus to love righteousness and hate lawlessness. Please help him to have the courage to do the right thing even when urged to do the wrong thing. In the Name above all names Jesus our Messiah. Amen.

Lord God, the intercessors of our nation raise the health, safety, and needs of this public servant before you in prayer. Grant unto him the wisdom as Soloman had in political and personal things. Give true insight into the future effects of every issue brought before him. Light his pathway in truth and provide him a just balance of the truth in all things represented to him. Amen and Amen.

Lord, may Your hand of mercy and grace rest upon Representative Lanting as he seeks to serve the people of Idaho. Give him wisdom and clarity to perform his duties and a heart for the people. As a former school teacher he understands the importance of a moral education, so may he stand with parents and teachers to ensure that the children not only receive a quality education but that their personal safety is always is all important. May he always walk in integrity and seek to uphold morality in all areas of government. Open his eyes to deception and error, always following truth and justice, regardless of what another may do. Give him courage to always do the right thing. Bless him I ask in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Father, I lift up Representative Greg Lanting. May he seek your wisdom as he serves our government. May he not serve for money or power, but because he is serving you, the ruler of the whole universe. Give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness and a desire to find Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I pray in agreement with prayer warriors engaged in spiritual warfare on behalf of Representative Greg Lanting. We lift him up, stand in the gap under the authority Jesus gives His disciples in Matthew 28:18-19, and pray in Jesus' name that he be surrounded by spirit-filled Christian disciples who are able to speak Your Word of Truth and Your values into his life. We pray in Jesus' name for the binding (Matthew 16:19) of satan's rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12) and for "the demolish(ing) of arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God," (2 Corinthians 10:5). We pray for the loosing (Matthew 16:19) of open eyes, listening ears and a soft heart that will enable Mr. Lanting to receive revelation of Your truth and values into his spirit. We pray that Greg Lanting is convicted to receive Your gift of salvation (John 3:16) and "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ," (2 Cor. 10:5). We pray he be blessed with godly counsel and God-fearing advisors (Proverbs 24). In Jesus name, Amen.
