Philippians 4:13 KJV [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Psalm 91:1-16 KJV [1] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust. [3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. [11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. [12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. [13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. [14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. [15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. [16] With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.

Dear Precious Lord, Give Mr. Marshall the strength to live another day; Let him not turn coward before its difficulties or prove recreant to its duties; Let him not lose faith in You, dear Father; Keep him sweet and sound of heart, in spite of daily ingratitude, treachery, or meanness; Preserve him from minding little stings or giving them; Help him to keep his heart clean, and to live so honestly and fearlessly that no outward failure can dishearten him or take away the joy of conscious integrity; Open wide the eyes of his soul that he may see good in all things; Grant him this day some new vision of Your truth; Inspire him with the spirit of joy and gladness; and make him the cup of strength to suffering souls; For the glory of God and in the pursuit of His justice, may Mr. Marshall be trustworthy with confidences, keen in study, accurate in analysis, correct in conclusion, able in argument, loyal to clients, honest with all, courteous to adversaries, ever attentive to the truth of Your Word. Lord, sit with him at his desk and listen with him as he ponders and seeks a solution for his clients' concerns. Read with him in his library and stand always beside him so that today he shall not, to win a point, lose his soul. Lord, I pray that his family may find in him what Your children find in You: friendship and courage, cheerfulness and charity, diligence in duties, counsel in adversity, patience in pain, their good servant, and You, God are always put first.
