Sean Casten (D)

Gracious Heavenly Father, may Rep. Casten know that it is Your hand and Your sovereign purpose that is keeping him and sustaining him in his divine commission. (Ps 38:12-15) Keep him, and those who serve him, safe from the enemy's snares and free from the accuser's traps. (Ps 141:9-10) By Your great hand, Lord, deal with those who oppose righteousness and justice so that all will know that You alone are sovereign and true. (Ps 64:6-9) I pray that you would open his heart to hear and respond to the Gospel Message if he does not know you. I pray the prayer of King Solomon in I Kings on our leader. "Give your servant an understanding mind to govern your people, so that he may discern between good and evil." Pour out Your Spirit upon him. Shower him with your goodness and put a hedge of protection about him and his family. Protect him from the influence of the evil one and teach him to trust in you. Reveal to him by Your Spirit the marvelous truth of the Gospel. Give him discretion, foresight, and understanding in making decisions. Grant him a heart of compassion toward those he leads and serves. Help him, like Jesus to love righteousness and hate lawlessness. Please help him to have the courage to do the right thing even when urged to do the wrong thing. In the Name above all names Jesus our Messiah. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we Pray Representative Sean Casten is convicted that he is created in Your image; woven together in the womb of his mother by Your hands, from conception to birth, for Your purpose and Your plan (Psalm 139:13-16) at this time in history. Lord God, we pray he be convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and to demand of himself honesty, integrity, and loyalty (Psalm 26, Proverbs 11:3), righteousness and justice (Proverbs 21:15). We pray he is convicted to measure every thought, word, decision and action against Your precepts (Psalm 111:10). We pray Mr. Casten sees our constitution as our founding fathers intended. May he be convicted that America is discovered, explored, settled and founded as Your city on a hill (Matthew 5:14) for the purpose of sending Your message of Salvation to every person, place, tribe and nation under heaven (Rev. 14:6). We pray that he is convicted that he must be "prepared to give an account to Almighty God" (Hebrews 9:27; Romans 14:12). In Jesus name, Amen

Lord, I pray for Sean Casten, that You would speak to him by name. Remove all barriers that are keeping him from being able to hear Your voice clearly. Draw him into a personal, saving relationship with Jesus, and re-orient his perspective so that he will begin to see all of life from Your point of view. Give him wisdom to make the right choices in all his decisions, especially including his actions in the office of Illinois Representative. Cause him to prosper to the degree that he follows You faithfully, and may his leadership become a blessing to the people of the state of Illinois. I pray all these things in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Father, in Jesus name I pray that Sean Casten would seek Your guidance as he serves the people in his decision making and that You be glorified! Amen

Almighty Father and Savior , grant Sean wisdom to open his heart to hear your truth and courage to walk in obedience. In Jesus's name Amen

God of Truth, guide Sean into all truth. Amen
