I pray in alignment with the upcoming National Day of prayer for your USA leadership. In Jesus Name Amen.

Father, when we consider Your ways what is man that Thou art mindful of us? Lord, you know the plans that You have for Senator Merkley, plans for a future and a hope. You have placed him in this position in Congress at this time in order to accomplish Your will. Please draw him closer to You and direct him in the path he should take. So many decisions are up in the air, and it seems as if there is a greater partisan division than ever. Divinely intervene and use this Senator as a peacemaker who understands the importance of a strong upbringing and concern for the welfare of others. Do not allow him to become swayed by the opinions of others, but use him to walk in unity with his fellow Congressman in finding decisions rather than creating dissension. This is the 250th years of our nation, and all should be working in unity rather than causing division. Lord, You know, and I pray that You can work in this Senator's life to open his eyes to see the truth and his ears to hear the truth, and to walk in integrity. Bless his kind heart and his well intentions. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for raising up Jeff Merkley to serve in government. I pray, Lord, that you would direct his heart as you've promised in Prov 21:1. Lead him to righteousness, draw him into your kingdom, and expose him to believers who would love him and share the Gospel with him. I pray you'd prevent Satan from blinding his eyes, and that you'd remove the veil that would otherwise prevent him from seeing the truth, and that you'd bring the full weight of the Holy Spirit to bear on his understanding. May his circumstances be shaped to draw his heart to you.

Lord, God, I pray that Oregon Senator, Jeff Merkley, will be consumed by a hunger and thirst for righteousness that will drive him to the reality and truth of Your Word, Your Son, Jesus Christ and his need for both. I pray that he will not be satisfied with any counterfeit, manipulation or compromise from the real truth & wisdom of Your written Word and the God-given blessing that comes from living in pursuit of true righteousness. Lord, draw Senator Merkley to Yourself and make him a godly man and leader. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
