Sanford Bishop (D)

Heavenly Father, we Pray Representative Sanford Bishop is convicted that he is created in Your image; woven together in the womb of his mother by Your hands, from conception to birth, for Your purpose and Your plan (Psalm 139:13-16) at this time in history. Lord God, we pray he be convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and to demand of himself honesty, integrity, and loyalty (Psalm 26, Proverbs 11:3), righteousness and justice (Proverbs 21:15). We pray he is convicted to measure every thought, word, decision and action against Your precepts (Psalm 111:10). We pray Mr. Bishop sees our constitution as our founding fathers intended. May he be convicted that America was discovered, explored, settled and founded as Your city on a hill (Matthew 5:14) for the purpose of sending Your message of Salvation to every person, place, tribe and nation under heaven (Rev. 14:6). We pray that he is convicted that he must be "prepared to give an account to Almighty God" (Hebrews 9:27; Romans 14:12). In Jesus name, Amen

Lord God, we intercede for Representative Sanford Bishop. We pray that first and foremost he would live in the fear of God, seeing and understanding Your sovereignty and awesomeness. We pray that at every turn and with every decision, plan or action, Mr. Bishop would seek Your truth, Your wisdom and Your strength to take and lead in right paths. We pray that Representative Bishop would be an instrument of Your help and Your healing for our nation and for his state of Georgia. Guide his steps, Lord and guard his heart that he would be a godly leader, empowered by Your Spirit and protected by Your righteous right hand. We lift Sanford Bishop before You, giving You all glory, honor and praise for what You are doing and will do in and through his life and work. We acknowledge and fall upon the ultimate authority and power of Jesus to accomplish that for which we pray. Amen

Lord God, I pray that Your Word, spoken by Christian prayer warriors, into the life of Sanford Bishop has taken deep root. We pray he is convicted to see himself as You see him, created in Your image (Genesis 1:27) for Your plan and purpose (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10) at this time in history. We pray that Representative Bishop is convicted of John 3:16, that "...God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life," and that "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding," (Psalm 111:10). We pray he be blessed with godly counsel and God-fearing advisors (Proverbs 24), and that he is convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and Your will as he represents Georgia and the United States of America. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father God, again a person I do not know how to pray for; I do not know this man or his heart and soul condition, but PTL You do. I commit Rep Sanford Bishop to the working of Your Holy Spirit, for the outcome of his eternal soul and his life, that he might be redeemed and that he might make a positive impact on other lives he encounters. Lord, draw him unto yourself and Your purpose for his life. Oh Lord, In the Name and by the power of Jesus Christ and the Spirit he gives us, we pray for this man that You would do a work in his life, in his heart that he might see Your Will and discern your direction for his life and his purpose and mission in Government. May he open his heart and mind to see You and Your guidance and not be prey to the whims and weaknesses of society, of harmful, misdirected ideologies and evil influences. Thank you o' God for hearing our pleas and for Your blessing over America; do not withdraw it, but sweep the halls of Congress, the government and the nation with Your Spirit of awakening and renewal.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, please protect our legislators as they try to do their jobs in a righteous holy manner, please convince them in their hearts and minds and souls to do the right thing according to Your ways.
