Lord God and Heavenly Father, I come to you in repentance for my struggle, even my unwillingness to pray for our Democratic congresspersons. Holy Spirit help me in this area; Lord and Spirit you know my struggle. May Jesus, our Advocate, bring my mumblings unto you for your working and perfect will for these people. I repeat before you a previous prayer offered. Dear God, I lift unto you this man Jim Costa, whom I do not know and I have not idea of his relationship to you and to Your Son, Jesus. I pray for Your Spirit to be at work in the hearts and minds of all these legislators; may there be Repentance where needed. May they have an awakening and be able to get beyond the agenda of the party and the platform and be able to see the reality of life. Remove from them the influence and the power of ill-conceived ideologies and programs that go against your design and your plan for mankind - male and female as you created us for your purposes and for your fellowship. Lord, I pray against the powers and the plans of satan and of evil that is working toward confusing and destroying your goodness and your offer of grace, forgiveness and equality for all men. Thank you Heavenly Father for your plan, for your Son whom you sacrificed that we might have hope and new life in Him. Thank you for hearing our petitions and our pleas. May we strive to honor and glorify your Name. Send your spirit to many who are struggling, wandering and denying who you are and who Jesus is. Sweep the nation with your spirit and winds of change, of repentance. In the midst of current (2024) turmoil, may there be changes and turning of hearts, minds and ideals to bring changes of attitudes and agendas and outcomes.

I pray, in the name of Jesus, over Representative Jim Costa: that he is convicted to accept Your Word, God, as his standard, to store up Your commands within him, to turn his ear to wisdom and apply his heart to understanding. I pray he is convicted to call out for insight, cry aloud for understanding, to apply the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2: 1-19). "Thus (he) will (be prepared to) walk in the ways of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous. For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land and the unfaithful will be torn from it" (Proverbs 2: 21-22). In Jesus name, Amen.

Lord, I lift up California's Representative Jim Costa to You. I ask that the eyes of his heart would have 20/20 vision to see Jesus for all that He is...to identify real and unchanging truth...that his being, focus and hope would be centered in Jesus. Draw him to Yourself. May he be a willing and eager student as You teach him Your ways, Lord. Guide him and guard him as Your ways increasingly become his ways.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the opportunity and privilege of adding my voice to the spirit filled prayers that are being lifted by Your prayer warriors on behalf of Jim Costa. We pray that he cries out to You for mercy and salvation. Only You, Heavenly Father, knows where his heart stands. If Jim Costa refuses to be saved and to honor You and walk in righteousness and justice, we pray that his days in office will be few (Deuteronomy 16:18-20; Proverbs 8:20) and that another, who is a spirit filled believer in Christ be elected to take his place (Psalm 109:8), according to Your will and Your plans for the state of California and for America. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father, I pray for Representative Jim Costa. Thank you for his service to our country. May he seek you humbly for wisdom in his office. Give him repentance for seeking money and power over life with you and righteousness for our nation. May he see he has no real life outside of life in Jesus. Protect him and his family.
