Sheldon Whitehouse (D)

We lift our voices in prayer and thanksgiving for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. We pray for a revelation of Your Word of Truth and Your values into the heart/spirit of Senator Whitehouse. Enable him to see himself as You see him (Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 2:10), to humble himself before You (Isaiah 66:2), repent of his sins, transgressions and iniquities (Psalm 51:17; John 8:3-11), and seek Your forgiveness and the forgiveness of anyone he has sinned against (Matthew 6:14-15; Mark 11:25). If he does not know You as his savior, we pray he would have a saving encounter with You (Ephesians 1: 17-23). We pray that Senator Whitehouse be convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and Your will as he serves the people of Rhode Island and fulfills his duties and responsibilities in the Senate. In Jesus name, Amen

Lord God, to You belongs all wisdom, all power and all glory! To You, alone, belongs all worship and praise! And it is to You, alone, that we humbly request divine help and guidance and strength and courage and hearts willing to receive and act upon that which we pray for. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is no different. For the benefit of many, his position requires he be greatly attuned to You, greatly reliant upon You, and greatly guided by Your unchanging Truth. For these things we pray on behalf of Mr. Whitehouse, his office, his home and his duty. First and foremost, we pray that Senator Whitehouse would seek You, know You and follow You and in so doing, would usher in the blessings of God into his state and into this nation. May Your hand be heavy upon Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, working in him the godly leader that we need. We humbly ask this in the power and authority of the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Gracious Heavenly Father, may Sen. Whitehouse know that it is Your hand and Your sovereign purpose that is keeping him and sustaining him in his divine commission. (Ps 38:12-15) Keep him, and those who serve him, safe from the enemy's snares and free from the accuser's traps. (Ps 141:9-10) By Your great hand, Lord, deal with those who oppose righteousness and justice so that all will know it is You alone who is sovereign and true. (Ps 64:6-9) I pray that you would open his heart to hear and respond to the Gospel Message if he does not know you. I pray the prayer of King Solomon in I Kings on our leader. "Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that he may discern between good and evil." Pour out Your Spirit upon him. Shower him with your goodness and put a hedge of protection about him and his family. Protect him from the influence of the evil one and teach him to trust in you. Reveal to him by Your Spirit the marvelous truth of the Gospel. Give him discretion, foresight and understanding in making decisions. Grant him a heart of compassion toward those he leads and serves. Help him, like Jesus to love righteousness and hate lawlessness. Help him to have the courage to do the right thing even when urged to do the wrong thing. In the Name above all names Jesus our Messiah. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, we bring Senator Sheldon Whitehouse before you, he and his family, friends and advisors. Please bring them to you for a saving knowledge and salvation. Open their eyes, let them see. That they may have the joy, peace and love only You can provide. Help Senator Whitehouse make decisions with Your wisdom. Guide and protect him, his family, friends and advisors. Help them stand strong in You, In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lord & Savior Christ Jesus, Please protect this legislator & all legislators in America from evil. Please give them wisdom & power over the enemy. Please make them righteous & holy.
