Father I pray you raise him up in health, safety, and understanding. As you do for those he loves and who he serves. That he know the hope of his calling into service before this nation. That he not dispise the small beginnings as each seed in the bag creates its portion of the harvest in time. Give to him the wisdom as the men of Issachar that had understanding of the times and a knowing of what the nation ought to do. Father God, thank You for the years of faithful service Senator Thune has devoted, working across non-partisan lines in Congress for the welfare of the nation. Continue to guide him as he works to safeguard our Constitution and support and regulate the laws that govern our country. May he continue to protect the sanctity of human life and respect for all life, supporting the needs of the most vulnerable citizens. Thank You, Father for his participation in every area of government, but I am particularly thankful that he is watchful over the educational process for our children. Give him wisdom and discernment to protect all children of all ages from inappropriate material or propaganda that may be used to wrongly influence their young minds. As a father he understands how important it is to be watchful over our children. So much has been allowed into our nation to harm and influence children wrongly, but I pray that with proper supervision and lawmaking, these problems can be overturned and stability replaced in our educational process. May he continue to walk in integrity and use his voice to speak boldly and courageously regarding the safety of our borders and national security. May he stand in unity with the present administration and with all members of Congress, working through differences in a manner befitting a member in leadership ensuring a strong government. Father, please guide Senator Thune as he works to gain support to fund the government. I pray that in all interactions "the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart would be acceptable in Your sight." (Psalm 19:14) In Jesus' name and for His glory, Amen.

Father, thank You for Senate Majority Leader John Thune. He has chosen to serve his country and I pray he is serving You as well. While the Supreme Court is hearing a case on the constitutionality of racial gerrymandering in Louisiana's congressional district maps, I pray for Senator Thune to lead the Senate in prudence as they consider these issues. But even more important is that he work on leading the Senate to a resolution that will allow the government to open again. The shutdown is beginning to have negative effects on our citizens. I pray these things in Jesus's name. Amen.
