Lord Jesus, I raise prayer for this elected official in the dark hours of the night. Grant and bless him with the wisdom of the men of Issachar, that had understanding of the times and knew what their nation ought to do. Protect and defend his voice as he represents the best interests of those he serves. Make clear his pathway, provide just weights for his scale of judgement in the complex issues that pass before him. Light his path as a guide that He fulfills his calling. Grant health, safety, and prosperity to him, those he loves, his staff, and those he represents through the times ahead. Amen, Amen in Jesus Name.

Father, I pray that Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven in Representative Cleaver's life. As a Methodist Pastor I pray that he will draw close to you, listening for Your still small voice, and not listening to the opinions of others. It's so easy to get caught up in the political drama that has been unfolding over the years, but I pray that he will walk in integrity and truth. Please open his eyes to see and understand that a house divided cannot stand in our government, and may he work across partisan line and in solidarity with the present administration. Thank You for opening the eyes of so many leaders in Congress, and give them the boldness and courage to speak out for truth and justice. May he being each day with prayer and humility and fear of God, listening for Your voice and seeing clearly the truth concerning all matters. Lord, Your word says that the things that have been done in secret will be revealed in the light of day. Please work supernaturally in this man's life, so that he will know the hope to which You have called Him. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Lord, I pray that Missouri Representative, Emanuel Cleaver, would seek truth and real wisdom in all his opinion-forming and decision-making. As You are the author of absolute, unchanging truth and the only source of divine wisdom, which You have told us to ask for, I ask that You would provide these to Representative Cleaver. I pray that he would not perform the duties of his office out of desire for money, power or position, but that his heart and actions would follow Your leading.
