Sanford Bishop (D)

Lord Jesus, I raise prayer for this elected official in the dark hours of the night. Grant and bless him with the wisdom of the men of Issachar, that had understanding of the times and knew what their nation ought to do. Protect and defend his voice as he represents the best interests of those he serves. Make clear his pathway, provide just weights for his scale of judgement in the complex issues that pass before him. Light his path as a guide that He fulfills his calling. Grant health, safety, and prosperity to him, those he loves, his staff, and those he represents through the times ahead. Amen, Amen in Jesus Name.

Father, I pray for Sanford Bishop. Thank you for his service to you and to our country. May he seek you for wisdom and a walk with you through Jesus Christ, Creator and Redeemer. Give him a heart to serve in humility and honesty and not for fame or money or power. Let him see himself as you see him and repent of sin in his life. Protect him and his family.

We lift our voices in prayer and thanksgiving for Representative Sanford Bishop. We pray for a revelation of Your Word of Truth and Your values into the heart/spirit of Representative Bishop. Enable him to see himself as You see him (Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 2:10), to humble himself before You (Isaiah 66:2), repent of his sins, transgressions and iniquities (Psalm 51:17; John 8:3-11), and seek Your forgiveness and the forgiveness of anyone he has sinned against (Matthew 6:14-15; Mark 11:25). If he does not know You as his Savior, we pray he would have a saving encounter with You (Ephesians 1: 17-23). We pray that Sanford Bishop be convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and Your will as he serves the people of Georgia and fulfills his duties and responsibilities in the House of Representatives. Heavenly Father, we Pray Representative Sanford Bishop is convicted that he is created in Your image; woven together in the womb of his mother by Your hands, from conception to birth, for Your purpose and Your plan (Psalm 139:13-16) at this time in history. Lord God, we pray he be convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and to demand of himself honesty, integrity, and loyalty (Psalm 26, Proverbs 11:3), righteousness and justice (Proverbs 21:15). We pray he is convicted to measure every thought, word, decision and action against Your precepts (Psalm 111:10). We pray Mr. Bishop sees our constitution as our founding fathers intended. May he be convicted that America was discovered, explored, settled and founded as Your city on a hill (Matthew 5:14) for the purpose of sending Your message of Salvation to every person, place, tribe and nation under heaven (Rev. 14:6). We pray that he is convicted that he must be "prepared to give an account to Almighty God" (Hebrews 9:27; Romans 14:12). In Jesus name, Amen

Lord God, we intercede for Representative Sanford Bishop. We pray that first and foremost he would live in the fear of God, seeing and understanding Your sovereignty and awesomeness. We pray that at every turn and with every decision, plan or action, Mr. Bishop would seek Your truth, Your wisdom and Your strength to take and lead in right paths. We pray that Representative Bishop would be an instrument of Your help and Your healing for our nation and for his state of Georgia. Guide his steps, Lord and guard his heart that he would be a godly leader, empowered by Your Spirit and protected by Your righteous right hand. We lift Sanford Bishop before You, giving You all glory, honor and praise for what You are doing and will do in and through his life and work. We acknowledge and fall upon the ultimate authority and power of Jesus to accomplish that for which we pray. Amen

Lord God, I pray that Your Word, spoken by Christian prayer warriors, into the life of Sanford Bishop has taken deep root. We pray he is convicted to see himself as You see him, created in Your image (Genesis 1:27) for Your plan and purpose (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10) at this time in history. We pray that Representative Bishop is convicted of John 3:16, that "...God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life," and that "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding," (Psalm 111:10). We pray he be blessed with godly counsel and God-fearing advisors (Proverbs 24), and that he is convicted to seek Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and Your will as he represents Georgia and the United States of America.
