I have always loved this carol and have listened to this rendition several times since it was posted because I was so blessed by it. They have succeeded in depicting both the majesty and the mystery of God with their arrangement. I have always wondered, however, why the chorus was not written to say “has come” rather than “will come.”
Selah’s rendition of this is also a favorite of mine. It is interspersed with a violin interlude which is the tune of the Israeli national anthem.
I am in my 60s and by no means a kid looking for a rock concert experience. I can envision David’s temple with the sounding of many shofars and the cloud of incense and smoke of the altar fires. 4,000 were assigned to worship with instruments there. I suspect it did not bear much resemblance to our church worship today.

Just looks like another rock concert that looks like the world with smoke and rock music. Is Jesus truly worshipped here? The lyrics cry out to Immanuel, but does the band’s music?

I understand your statement but I need to disagree. I was blessed by this video and I felt the worship in it. This group was giving their talent to glorify God and I think they succeeded, not with everyone but with many. God honors our giving our talents to honor him.
