Most Christians believe that much prayer is needed for America. The problem is that most do not know how to pray in a way that is effective and will release the power of God on behalf of our nation. In many ways, this video daily devotional series is about the need for deep repentance in the church and serious intercession for our nation. It is a challenge to the Church and individual Christians to have the courage to speak prophetically to the needs of our nation, while at the same time waging spiritual war on her behalf.

Day 1: Praying with Hope

Is there hope for our nation? Sometimes there is much uncertainty and people look to government officials to solve our issues rather than to God. To pray with faith requires a repentant Church hoping for the kind of transformational change that can only come through the power of God. Regardless of the circumstances in our nation today, the Bible teaches us to pray with great hope.

Spend Time in Prayer

Dave ended Lesson 1 with this powerful statement: “Prisoners of hope (Zechariah 9:12) never quit praying until the Lord accomplishes His purposes or until He silences their prayers. God is calling us today to have hope…to pray!” Here are some prayer points to utilize:
• Pray that God would pour out hope upon you individually and on your church corporately as you begin to pray more urgently for our nation.
• Ask God to step in and change our nation in ways that can only be attributed to His activity in response to the prayers of His people!
• Use Dave’s prayer point in your prayer time: “Ask the Lord to renew your hope regarding the future of the United States. Pray for a fresh vision of what can happen in this nation as we submit ourselves to the lordship of Christ.”
