As Republicans seek to impeach several Biden admin officials, Speaker McCarthy has his sights set on one unlikely contender.

House Republicans are debating whether to focus impeachment efforts on Attorney General Merrick Garland after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) suggested an inquiry against him, taking some members by surprise after much of the GOP impeachment furor had been directed at other Biden officials.

In a year where the GOP has been most steadily focused on possible impeachments of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas or President Biden, McCarthy often has been the voice urging the conference to move patiently and deliberately.
But he has shown more vigor when eyeing Garland, an official leading an agency often derided by the GOP but a figure less frequently cited by the party’s members who are most keen on impeachment.
McCarthy first elevated the topic with a tweet late last month touting testimony of an IRS whistleblower who has alleged mismanagement of the investigation into Hunter Biden, saying it could serve as “a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry.”
But the conference — though eager to investigate — hasn’t rushed to back the idea, with some questioning whether there is a legal basis for impeaching Garland and others saying different Cabinet secretaries should be reviewed first. …
McCarthy doubled down on action against Garland last week in a Fox News op-ed.
“When a prosecutor shields his boss’s son from investigators, it smells like a cover-up. Garland’s DOJ did not aggressively follow the money. Why? Are they afraid where that trail ends?” he said.
“Clearly, someone is not telling the truth, and Congress has a duty to get answers,” McCarthy continued. …
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee that serves as the clearinghouse for such inquiries, backed the idea, offering stronger support for impeaching Garland than some of the other secretaries floated as targets for his committee.
“I think he sees the facts now,” Jordan said of McCarthy. “So it’s quickly [becoming] who are you going to believe? … I’m with the speaker on we need to get to the facts. And if it warrants moving forward with an inquiry we got to do that.” …
Democrats dismissed the idea that there is any case to be made against Garland. …

Lord, We ask for wisdom for the Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan as they pursue this. Guide them to bring light and truth regarding the deep seated corruption in our govt. Give them Your strategy and a conviction in their hearts that they are placed in these positions of authority for such a time as this to serve this country and uproot this evil.
Father, turn our officials hearts to you. If they will not come to you, I pray they would be replaced by godly men and women. We intercede for our government to be righteous and for your people to stand in righteousness and in prayer!

I believe he is jointly part of the corruption and supporting hiding all truth of the Biden family corruption. He needs to be removed from his position in government now.
garland is in a coverup and corruption , he needs to be held accountable then wray needs to be accountable, from the top down , their corruption needs to go.
The order of God has been defiled in the church body. It has chosen to interfaith with denominations that have defiled His word. It is the church that has failed. Government has always been corrupt. We the people in the constitution stands for we the government not Bureaucrats who rule over. We are their employees. We have done this ourselves. Do we have true Godly sorrow or earthly sorrow?
However, having said that the loss of authority and position of responsibility on the part of we the people started a long time ago-,maybe 75 years ago at least.. Americans have been in the habit of turning over the governing of their body and their lives, to government officials.. for a long long time. This should have been done a long long time ago.. and now we in this generation -the different age groups we represent.. I am 69 years old-,are saddled with responsibility of taking up the burden of correcting these hundreds of years of errors of our forefathers.
Lord-, we need all the help we can get.. finger wagging has no place in this Lord- only shoulder to the grindstone positioning- and help from you Lord,-, in Jesus mighty name, amen
.. and, even having said that.. it must be remembered that China has their roots in our system.. in our cities.. in all of our country and have had for a long time.. just last night I was watching the flyover conservative program and Christine Hutcherson their guest was showing a map with Chinese encampments that exist with the help of respective communities and governments all the way from South America up to Central America in Cuba that are there to not help us but to spy on us and eventually someday come against us
They are not our leaders, but public SERVANTS. We are a constitutional republic not a democracy! The only way it can be kept is when the moral serve.
Lord I pray that “We the People” will be brave and bold and demand that our leaders in the house and the senate start at the head. Help us to hold our leaders in the House and the Senate responsable and require them to do their jobs and clean out this mess. That is what we elected them to do. Help us to be BRAVE and BOLD and hold them accountable.
Lord we know that you came to save lost sheep and a sheep can be found but a goat will always be a goat. Help us to decern the difference and be wise as servants and harmless as doves. And not to turn our back on the devil but run at him with the armies of heaven with us! In Jesus Name
