As most civilized societies are still reeling from the demonized terrorist attacks in Israel, how is it that so many American students are marching for Hamas and frothing with anti-semitic rhetoric?  It is precisely because they have not been taught the basic history of the Middle East. These marching students will rightly exclaim First Nations as the indigenous people of America over our barely 500-year history but have no understanding that the Jewish people are the obvious indigenous people of Israel, spanning an almost 4000-year history.

Why do these same coeds not only misunderstand the essential tenets of capitalism but also want to abolish our entire economic system when it is proven to have lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system in history?

Why is the steepest rise in sexual confusion manifesting within this same population of schoolfellows? Vital to note: A recent survey reveals 34% of the student body of Arizona State University identifies as gay, queer, or non-binary. This school hosts a webpage that lists all of the Out and Proud staff and faculty who are “Eager to support queer and trans students.”

Why do these same fragile universities require extensive security and police protection any time a conservative pundit is invited to speak on campus? Why are European students gluing themselves to highways and dousing fine art with soup as a call to save the planet?

When each of our boys began their college search, we offered plenty of guidance, suggestions, love, and support. But I had one iron-clad, non-negotiable rule. If either wanted to attend a secular university, my answer was not no, but — They had to prepare a well-researched study and present their case to me.

Only by The Lord’s gracious provision, did both our boys attend K – 12 Christian school. Some have said, “Don’t you think it’s harmful to hide them in a bubble with people who all think alike?” To which I say, “We’re not hiding them in a bubble. We want them to thrive in the Kingdom of God.”

And if you think all Christians think alike, you may not know enough of us.

A parent’s deepest desire for their children is for them to be planted in rich, sacred soil within a well-ordered garden so they can healthfully grow in the knowledge of God, be imbued with a holy sense of identity, and garner a virtuous education grounded in truth.

Tragically, our educational institutions have devolved into toxic landfills that are failing on all three counts. Classrooms and universities are systematically indoctrinating our children with a pagan, atheistic worldview, a victim-based, narcissistic sense of identity, and revisionist history intended to reshape generations to come with anti-American and anti-Christ ideologies.

It is always important to honor the good teachers who are fighting below deck straining to right the listing ship. They deserve all our prayers, encouragement, as well as better wages. But the fact remains: Antonio Gramsci’s well-planned war on the West is fast advancing.

Gramsci was an Italian communist (1891 – 1937) and is credited with crafting the blueprint that has served as the foundation for the proliferation of Cultural Marxism throughout the West. The inherent function of Marxism is to divide society into identity collectives. Specifically, the oppressed and the oppressors.

Professor James Lindsay explains Marxism:

Marxism is like the operating system on a computer. Once the system is loaded, you can plug various programs into it. No matter the program, the results are the same: societies devolve into catastrophic chaos.

Consider 20th-century history. The economic program was plugged into Soviet Russia. The class program was plugged into Mao’s China. The race program was plugged into Nazi Germany. The result? Over 150 million people were slaughtered by their governments – and that number excludes casualties of war.

Gramsci’s “Long March Through the Institutions” was devised because he knew Western society had become too stable and faith-centric to collapse quickly, as happened in the Soviet Union during the dekulakization campaigns. But, if patient and effective Marxists could be placed in our institutions of learning, seminaries, media, and government, their insidious leaven will spread through the whole system.

Jesus sternly warned us, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod (Mark 8:15).

Always keep in mind: The leaven of the Pharisees is the religious spirit, but the leaven of Herod is the political spirit.

Today’s Neo-Marxists have been subtlety but steadily plugging the gender program into their hellish operating system and bundling it as an entertainment package for students.

In just a few short years, behold the chaos: Rampant sexual assault in genderless bathrooms and locker rooms, teachers fired for violating pronoun preferences, a plethora of pornographic textbooks flooding elementary schools, school administrators secretly grooming students without parental consent, and “family-friendly” drag queen shows playing in a school library near you.

The famous proverb says it so well, Train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it (Prov. 22:6).

The truth contained in this verse is time-proven. But the key is:  Who is doing the training?

I am very grateful both boys attended Christian colleges and while it wasn’t without challenges, they were planted in good gardens and were launched confidently in the ways of the Kingdom.

Make no mistake:  The most important and lasting training a child will receive happens at home. But their Christian education ensured that the Bible has always been central in their education, great men and women of God have imparted great blessings and gifts to our boys, and the relationships forged are forever.

The case for Christian education has never been clearer and has never been more vital. Yes, for our children but also this nation. It shouldn’t simply be a means to avoid and hide from the rapid secular shift that is happening. Instead, it should birth a new patient, long march through the institutions — Christians releasing the leaven of the Kingdom and allowing the virtue, honor, love, and truth of Christ to permeate and penetrate all things.

All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist (Col. 1:16-17).
