Yes, Lord, I pray that this investigation will result in more free speech and fairness online. Amen!
I have stopped using the phrase “I Googled it” I now say “I searched it” I’m not giving them anymore notoriety than they already have. I also used search engines that don’t track you, like Duck Duck Go and Startpage (Dutch privacy laws are among the strictest in the world).
Thanks for the information Lisa, I have just added Duck Duck Go an Startpage as my search engines.
Thank you for these resources !
I always tell people to stop using, and stop referring to a search as “google it”! I’ve used Duckduckgo.com for years. No biased info presented, no tracking you, no advertising!
Good to be reminded about DuckDuckGo! I use Bing to avoid the “other” one but I’m sure Microsoft isn’t any better!
I work in a Prolife Ministry and Goggle has now mandated our ad be listed under “does not provide abortions”. We are very transparent about our services but other entities do not have to proclaim everything they don’t do, just what services they do provide. We provide lots of information and support for women thinking about abortion and our website says we do not provide or refer for abortions. This statement may deter women from seeking counsel. This is discriminatory
As the Founder of Women’s Prayer Army, I had to list myself as a “coach” for Google searches, we still have trouble breaking in to their search results (even after a lot of seo work). They definitely don’t make it easy !
