Pray for our brothers and sisters in Egypt. May God strengthen, protect, and comfort them in their loss. Pray for governmental leaders who are developing strategies to combat ISIS.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Pet. 5:8)

Christians make up about 10% of Egypt’s population of 85 million, and they are especially visible during Palm Sunday, one week before Easter, when they tote palms in the streets. They have repeatedly been targeted by Islamist extremists in recent years: Last week, local media reported another bomb was found at St. George’s Church and defused. . . .

The Coptic Church is the dominant Christian denomination in Egypt, where it is said to have been established in the 1st century by the Apostle Mark. (Excerpted from the Los Angeles Times, reporting by Makarios Nassar, Omar Medhat, Molly Hennessy-Fiske.)

Outraged Egyptians posted messages of solidarity with members of the embattled religious minority on social media, using a hashtag saying “your terrorism brings us together.” (Excerpted from CNN, reporting by Emanuella Grinberg and Sarah Sirgany.)

President Donald J. Trump spoke . . . with President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of Egypt to convey his deepest condolences to Egypt and to the families who lost loved ones in the heinous terrorist attacks against Christian churches on Palm Sunday.  President Trump condemned the attacks that killed and injured dozens of Egyptians. The President also expressed his confidence in President Al Sisi’s commitment to protect Christians and all Egyptians. (White House Press Release, April 10, 2017)

Lord according to Your Word, let every soul be subject unto the higher power. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God ( Romans 13:1), in Jesus name! Psalm 91 tells us that He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom we trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling, even the LORD, who is my refuge, then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. Because he loves me says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledge my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will desire him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. Lord, protect Your people according to psalm 91, in Jesus name!

Dear Heavenly Father,

We pray that You send comfort to your people.

Psalm 5 1-3 – Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; for unto thee will I pray.
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Amen.

Heavenly Father – Thank you for the opportunity to worship you freely in this country.

Help me to know how I can help my Brothers and Sisters overseas as they face these horrific acts committed against them.

Please help me trust You and remember that our goal here walk with You and help as many others as we can to get to know You and be with You. I confess that I don’t see what good can possibly come out of this situation. However, I trust you to know what is happening. I need help remembering that my wisdom is as foolishness when compared to You.

I love you Lord.
Show me the path you want me to take.

In the name of Jesus. Amen

Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for a divine hedge of protection around the families of those who survived the attack and for the families who suffered loss through this attack against the Church members of His Body. Lord comfort them on every side and be their defense against Isis who are being used by the enemy, “You are greater than the enemy. Rise up as A Mighty Man of War” in Jesus name, Amen.
