I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 2 minutes

At this time, the west is filled with angry Christians. Many of us are sorely grieved and appalled by the growing wickedness flagrantly displayed, even promoted and commended, in our culture. We must never back down from proclaiming righteousness and holiness based on the truth of God’s Word. We must also guard against reacting from our own opinions or prejudices, remembering the wise counsel of James:

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires… Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness (James 1:19-20; 3:18 NIV).

What’s Our Responsibility?

Our responsibility as the people of God is to turn anger into intercession. We most effectively resist the filth of this world by worshipping the Lord’s holiness, beauty and might, and by releasing prayers for redemption and mercy to be poured out on men and women. We cry out like the prophet Habakkuk:

ADONAI, I have heard the report about You. ADONAI, I am awed by Your deeds. Bring Your work to life in our own age, make it known in our own time; but in anger, remember compassion (Habakkuk 3:2 NIV).

By positioning ourselves to pray this way, we align ourselves with the heart of our gracious Father, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (see 1 Timothy 2:4). Our posture is not pacifism; it is not foolish naivety, it is not making light of sin. It is aggressive peacemaking through intercession. In this world, individuals who change society and affect history are the people who don’t just impotently rage against injustice, but they take responsibility for what is wrong and work for change.

Intercession is taking responsibility! We are misaligned when we fight and strive with each other, rather than boldly entering the true battle, which is against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (see Ephesians 6:12).

God help us all!!! You Lord are the only answer to all the things that are going on. I pray for healing, forgiveness, repentance and coming back to you for all people. Lord I know it keeps getting worse and worse. Thank you that we can come to you for help. I pray for the people of this country, our leaders, politicians, those instigating division, those performing abortions, killing your babies, the hatred, greed, violence, children being stolen, bought, sold and abused. I pray for peace, unity, love, guidance, strength and courage to do what you want me to do Lord. I give you thanks and praise in Jesus precious name and power, amen.

Truth exists; it is not found in venting anger. Truth is discovered in listening and in seeking what accords with the will of God — then acting on that knowledge.

Absolutely one hundred percent correct. Prayer changes things and God is still on the Throne.
