PRAY ABOUT THE REAL THREAT TO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
In February, the Yale Law School chapter of the Federalist Society invited Kristen Waggoner of the Alliance Defending Freedom to speak on campus.
This, to put it mildly, didnāt go over well with some of the law schoolās more āwokeā students. Using talking points straight from the Southern Poverty Law Center, students protested Waggonerās visit, calling the ADF a āhomophobic, transphobic hate group.ā
If thatās all that had happened, it would āmerelyā have been yet another example of progressive intolerance. However, the way things escalated makes clear how serious the on-campus threats to religious freedom have become, and just where those threats are coming from.
The protesters not only protested, they had a list of demands, including that Yale Law would make it āmore difficult for students to work at ādiscriminatoryā organizationsā like ADF and that the school would āconsider denying admission to applicants who worked on certain religious liberty efforts before law school.ā
As Yale Law School alum Samuel Adkisson wrote in USA Today, these kinds of demands are usually greeted with laughter. But not this time.
Not only did Yale cave into the demands, they went beyond them by announcing an expanded anti-discrimination policy. Under the new policy, employers who hire Yale students or graduates who benefit from the schoolās āpublic-interest funding, its loan-repayment program, and its post-graduate fellowships,ā must promise that they āwill not consider an applicantās āreligion,ā āreligious creed,ā āgender identityā or āgender expressionāā in the hiring decision.
The sound you hear is doors of opportunity for students slamming shut everywhere. Basically, any organization that runs afoul of the new sexual orthodoxy thatās driving this new policy, will find it much more difficult to recruit Yale Law School grads. And those grads whose motivations run toward non-profit or public service will find their choices significantly narrowed…. (Read more Click Here. What a far cry from what Yale started out to be. It was a Christian University when they started. What has happened? Well, they hired communist teachers (which I wrote to them about and they fired the one that I mentioned) and the communists and socialists were still hired to teach our young. Very sneaky but smarter than the Deans, etc. Now we are tending with anti-American, anti-Christian students who tell the administration what to do, rather than the other way around. Very sad and very stupid of those running Yale and a lot of our other colleges and universities.
Father we know words matter. Propaganda in education hurts unwittingly the ones being educated. Help our nation to see the Truth, hear and receive the Truth. Jesus send Holy Spirit and His wisdom into education to expose propaganda so truth bubbles up.
Thank you Lord God for such a great salvation. When people forget you, they lose the linkage between freedom and righteousness.
If you do not know righteousness you cannot sustain liberty because
unrighteousness is bondage. Your salvation brings life from death,
liberty from bondage and light from darkness. Open their eyes Lord, as you once opened ours.
