I Prayed have prayed
Lord, help us to be rooted in Your Word. Let us be lead by Your truth and not the world around us.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

This cloud  over our country reminds me of an episode 20 years ago in Texas.  We lived on a small farm and attended a spirit-filled church in Decatur TX. One morning my wife and I awoke with an urgency to pray Psalm 91.  We didn’t know why – just pray Psalm 91.  Later that day we talked to several of the other members who lived in our area that had the same prompting from the Holy Spirit but didn’t know why.

The next week the answer came out in the local paper.  The FBI had infiltrated a militia group that planned to blow up a large chemical tank as a “diversion” so they could rob a bank. The chemical fallout from the explosion would have impacted a 30-mile radius…

I remember Hearing that Ruth Graham always had a Bible open on the table in her bedroom.

In this dark hour we need to leave our Bibles open to Psalm 91. Please sound the alarm and send an urgent message asking all IFA Intercessors to leave Bibles open to Psalm 91 in addition to the prayer and pass the word on to their churches, friends, etc.

We always used psalm 91 as a prayer: in our home the bible was open on that psalm. We have seen the wings of the ALMIGHTY cover us in many occasions: one time coming home from church meeting: singing : a drunk driver: eradictly decided to turn at the light which was red: directly to our station wagon: our father was pinned down on the road and door: our mom hit the steering wheel with her chest:trying to keep our sister from hitting the windshield: as or my little sister and I were not hurt: the man who did this action was so overwhelmed all he did was sit on the hood of his vehicle:this all happened because Satan wanted to take out a future ministry: during these time cars didn’t have seat belts: so we got to see GOD heavenly protection. Many other times we have seen psalms 91 action in our family.

More important that leaving Bibles open to Psalm, we have to be asking ourselves, “Are we dwelling in the secret place of the most high”? Only the, does the protection promised come into play.

Keeping an audio version of the Bible playing 24/7 is also strengthening. Amazing how many times GOD will draw attention to a particular verse or chapter that is relevant for a current situation.

I was introduced to an awesome expanded explanation of Psalm 91 this fall through
Peggy Joyce Ruth’s book Psalm 91, which included 30 personal testimonies! I’ve prayed it over myself and loved ones everyday. It just covers every protection you would ever need!

Continuing to pray Satan’ s smokescreen of lies will be blown away from people’s decision making process and that their vision will be crystal clear. I pray deceiving spirits will depart from them. I pray this frequently for myself, others, and people in authority.

Since this fall I sing the song, “Guide Me, Thou O Great Jehovah,” to focus on God’s faithfulness, provision and protection.

Thank you for the encouragement. I just read Psalms 91, I am committing myself to reading it everyday as we continue walking through this storm with our eyes on Jesus. I will keep my Bible open to these words from God. I struggle between fear arising up in my flesh and excitement that refuses to let go of the victory I pray is right around the corner. I know God does not bless evil, and I know God has heard everyone of our prayers. Today I will pray, and live the day before me with trust and expectancy. If it does not go the way I am hoping, I know it is going God’s way and He will provide all I need to live each day honoring Him. Thank you for this prayer connection I have discovered at IFA. I don’t remember how I found you, but you have become a great encouragement to me. Pray on fellow prayer warriors and watch and see what God will do.

Father we ask Holy Spirit to teach us and guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Holy Spirit, help us to receive Your Word so that Your ideas become my ideas. Open our eyes to see the wonderful truths in this Psalm.

Psalm 91 KJV
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flieth by day,
6 nor of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor of the destruction that layeth waste at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation,
10 there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample underfoot.

14 “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

The four names for God in 91:1-2 reveal Him as:
1. Most High – Supreme, independent, ultimate, highest, greatest
2. Almighty – all powerful, most powerful, authoritative, dominant, strong
3. LORD – Lord God Yahweh – covenant keeping God
4. My God – God is up close and personal; He invites us to have an intimate relationship with Him
All these names cause us to be very confident in our God and his power.

Declaration: God (alone) is my refuge; God is my fortress (place of safety); God is MY God, I trust in God.

91:3-8
God rescues us from hidden traps and shields us from deadly hazards from the natural world, man-made, and from the spiritual world. God rescues and protects us with His: wings and feathers. Feathers, wings symbolize a nurturing mother bird, comforting, and self-sacrificial. He is our shield and rampart (barricade or battlement). Shields and barricades show God’s power and might in not letting anything harmful in. The Lord gives security from all natural and supernatural causes of “fear”, whether war or disease or disaster. Day and night – His protection is 24/7; there is no limit to His protection because He has full authority over all things that happen on earth.

91:9-10
God’s protection is promised to those who LIVE WITH God; those who know Him well and have an intimate relationship. The promise is not that we won’t have trouble, grief or hard times. The promise is that is won’t harm or destroy us. Safe in God’s arms, troubles that do come into our lives are used by God for our good and His glory. He promises that our wounds won’t destroy us. God’s promise is that He will always give us what we need to endure the suffering and even turn it into something good and positive in our lives for “…in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans (8:37-39). We will have suffering in this life, but God will sustain and rescue us. See also 2 Corinthians 11:23-28; 12:7-10; Romans 8:16-18, 28, 31, 35-39.

91:11-13
Angels will guard and protect us and keep us from harm. “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and He delivers them” (Psalms 34:7). “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14). With the help of angels, God enables us “Trample down lions and poisonous snakes; crush fierce lions and serpents under our feet”(Psalm 91:13). These are word pictures for any dangerous or difficult task we face. Sometimes we have to do something that we just don’t have the ability or strength to do. God promises supernatural power, sometimes given in the form of angles helping or protecting us.

In 91:14-16, the psalmist emphasizes that the conditional promises of trust and protection are really true and trustworthy. God himself is making these promises to the one who loves God, who has a deep longing and desire for God. To love God is to put Him first in your life, above and before everyone and everything. If we do then He promises:
I will rescue them
I will protect them
I will answer them
I will be with them in trouble
I will deliver them
I will honor them
I will satisfy them with a long life
I will show them my salvation

There are three conditions do these promises: those that love God;
those that acknowledge or trust God’s name; those that call upon God. “I will protect him” means “I will set him inaccessibly high” or “raise him to a high, secure place”. God is not only with us in trouble, but He protects us in such a way that the harm that comes from trouble cannot even touch us. It says God will, “will,” not “maybe” – If God says He will do something, then He will! We need to be just as definite in our commitment to God.

Response:
How can you deliberately take refuge in God? How can you avail yourself of God’s protection?
1) Make a list of fears and troubles for which you want to trust God for deliverance and protection.
2) According to Psalm 91, what is your part in experiencing God’s deliverance and protection?
3) How will you go about doing what you need to do?

Father, we not only put our ourselves under Your wings, but we also put our nation, our churches, our families under Your wings, and declare Your protection over us during this “national crisis” we are facing. Watch over us and protect from evil. Deliver our nation into Your hands, that we may be truly “one nation under God.” In Jesus’ name we proclaim Psalm 91 as our anchor and thank You for Your protection.

I sent Psalm 91 in a letter to a soldier when he served in Iraq during Desert Storm. When he wrote to me some time later, he said it was unopened, in his back pocket for a day because his unit came under assault. I still remember his words of awe, they were incredible. He had never read this Psalm but understood it personally and fully, referring to the passage below. Although it was wrinkled and grimy, he said he was going to laminate it to keep for all times. We serve a Magnificent God, merciful and able to do more than we will ever dream or imagine!

You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

LOL !! After a year of the Chinese virus wreaking havoc, this old lady practically has it memorized!! Take it with communion every day, especially, if like me, you can check off 5 of the co-morbidity boxes.

I know so many people terrified to even go to the grocery store but I’ve been to Lutsen MN, Rapid City SD, Duluth MN, Wisconsin Dells WI, Lacrosse WI, Branson MO, Wisconsin Dells WI, and I’m heading back to La Crosse this weekend. I live in Maple Grove MN. All those trips have been taken in the last 8 months. God’s medicine WORKS, and the side effects include water parks, restaurants, and beautiful scenery. You can’t use up the Grace we have been given, He delights in us and wants us to be happy and GRATEFUL.

I’m very grateful for the hedge of protection around me and I give Him ALL the GLORY, after all, it’s His Word, His body and His blood that covers me. God is GOOD, ALL the time.

Sister Kristine, I love your encouraging word. You are Living, not dying. Thank you so much. Your testimony has made my day. That is the way we all need to live: in faith, in hope, in love and good cheer even when “circumstances” look dismal.

I find that when I’m thinking things look dismal, I have my eyes on the problem and not Jesus, who is the answer. He has never failed me and so I rightly believe that He never will.

And in case someone reading this thinks, well she’s never been through what I’m going through, I rarely give my testimony because it scares people – but here’s the Reader’s Digest condensed version:

I was 18 months old the first time someone tried to kill me, I was 15 years old the first time someone died in my arms, I was 17 years old the first time I was left for dead.

I didn’t give my heart to the Lord until I was 32, giving satan many more cracks at me than a smarter, less stubborn soul would have, but I always believed in God and the work of Jesus on the cross and He clearly honored that tiny bit of faith.

So when I say Jesus is safety, provision, healing and GOOD, people should really listen to me, they should be taking notes!

“To those who have had no agony Jesus says, “I have nothing for you; stand on your own feet, square your own shoulders. I have come for the man who knows he has a bigger handful than he can cope with, who knows there are forces he cannot touch; I will do everything for him if he will let Me. Only let a man grant he needs it, and I will do it for him.” Oswald Chambers

The word of the Lord for today:

You are in uncharted waters. But the Lord of all Seas is with you, the Controller of all Storms is with you. Sing with joy.

Mark 4:39 He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was great calm.

Amen. I love Psalm 91! I call that
Psalm our Hedge of Protection Prayer. It covers the arsenal (from soup to nuts) of many of the futile weapons the thief, the murderer from the beginning, the father of lies, the accuser of the brethren, and the devil who prowls around like a lion, seeking whom he may devour, forges and hurls at us for the purpose to steal, kill, and everyone whom and every thing that God loves. But I love the fact that the spiritual weapons with which God equipped His children and He who lives in us are greater than he who lives in the world, the prince, power of the air, the adversary, and the enemy of our souls. When we put on the full armor of God , and confess with our mouths , it is written, when we take our God-given authority and execute it over satan , and decree and declare God’s word, He hastens to perform it and the enemy cannot harm us because God has given His children power over all the power of the enemy, when we worship God in spirit and in truth and praise and glorify Jesus in songs of love, gratitude, and adoration, He inhabits our praises and sets ambushes for the enemy and in His presence, the enemy melts like wax. When we diligently hearken to God and heed it and submit to His Lordship in our life, the devil may come to attack us in one direction but he will flee from us in 7 different directions when we resist him in the name and authority of Christ.
God gave us fervent, effectual prayers of intercession to pray in Jesus’name and for His glory, and times of fasting with prayer to deal with all of the hard and difficult problems in our lives , that seem impossible for us to conquer without His help and grace in our extreme times of need. He filled us with His Holy Spirit and fire to burn away our dross , so we can be golden vessels in His hand, meet and ready for our Master’s use, to empower, empower ,anoint, and appoint us to witness for Him everywhere we are, to overcome evil with good, love, and forgive others as Jesus forgives us, to do good, and heal all who are oppressed by the devil. Last but not least He gave us our Heavenly Language to with which to sing and pray the perfect prayer and will of God when we don’t know how to pray, for times of refreshing, to build up and edify our personal faith in God, and for God to reveal mysteries to us in a language the enemy can understand. Yep, I thank God sooo much today for Psalm 91 . it is true for perpetual generations and forever settled in heaven and for all the other spiritual weapons with which God has equipped His people called by His name to trimph always in Christ. 🤗❤️➕🤟🙏🙏💖
