RUTH BADER GINSBURG HOSPITALIZED; KEY SCOTUS CASE TODAY
The 87-year-old Supreme Court justice suffered an infection caused by a gallstone and had to undergo a non-surgical treatment.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized with an infection caused by a gallstone, the court announced Tuesday, adding that she’s expected to remain in the hospital for a “day or two.”
Ginsburg, 87, underwent non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis, a benign gallbladder condition, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on Tuesday.
The justice had undergone outpatient tests at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., Monday following oral arguments with the court, which confirmed that she had a gallstone blocking her cystic duct, resulting in an infection.
“The justice is resting comfortably and plans to participate in the oral argument teleconference tomorrow morning remotely from the hospital,” the Supreme Court said in a statement.
Pray for Ruth Bader Ginsburg–pray for salvation and for her to leave the Court if she is not truly capable of doing her work well and thoroughly.
Wednesday’s case — set to be argued via teleconference due to the coronavirus — has involved a lengthy battle spanning eight years with the Little Sisters of the Poor, a religious group serving the poor and elderly. All justices are participating via phone, so Ginsburg should have no impediments to staying involved in the case.
Pray for justice in this case for the Little Sisters of the Poor–they are fighting the Obamacare contraceptive mandate, which is described by National Review as “an ideological battle hostile to our basic liberties.” Helen Alvare, subtitled Why Does the Left Insist on Making Nuns Pay for Birth Control? in the Wall Street Journal, highlights some of the absurdity of this costly, lengthy lawsuit:
The Little Sisters have never subsidized a single birth-control pill or intrauterine device. They have never covered contraceptives in their health plan. So should the court rule in their favor in Little Sisters of the Poor v. Pennsylvania, no woman would lose coverage.
The states claim, contrary to the federal government’s own admissions, that the Little Sisters’ religious beliefs are harming women who can’t get contraception. But in nearly a decade since the Affordable Care Act was passed, states haven’t identified a woman who lacks coverage under the current religious exemption, or any other exemption.
Do the underserved women the states claim to defend exist, or is it all a political ploy to bring down religious exemptions and the faith-based ministries that rely on them?
Ginsburg has faced a slew of hurdles concerning her health, fueling speculation that her possible exit from the court could provide an opportunity for President Trump to appoint a third justice to the bench. However, she consistently has slapped down any notion that her departure from the nation’s highest court was imminent, insisting that she’d like to remain on the bench until she’s 90 years old.
Ginsburg has also had several bouts with cancer in the past. She had colorectal cancer in 1999 and pancreatic cancer in 2009. . .

Lord, May Ruth Bader Ginsburg recognize Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of Man, the Son of God, who gave his life on the cross to pay the debt for our sin we could not pay, and that He is coming back and every knee will bow, every tongue will confess and the government will be upon his shoulder. May she know Jesus will be exalted and extolled, and be very high. May Jesus meet with her and may the Holy Spirit quicken the word of God to her. May she be born again. May she know of your healing Jesus too. Whoever thought Paul would be one of them that day when he departed on the Road to Damascus. Truly Jesus, the things impossible for man are possible for God.
In Jesus name above all names.
