Praise! Eritrean Missionaries Freed!
We received this good news in an email from Todd Nettleton, host of VOM Radio. Praise God!
From The Voice of the Martyrs. On July 22, I sent an email asking you to pray for two Christian pastors spending their 7,000th day in prison and to demand that the Eritrean government release them and hundreds of other imprisoned Christians. In the days after that email went out, more than 10,000 people added their names to the list of those praying for Pastors Haile Nayzgi and Kiflu Gebremeskel as well as other imprisoned Christians in Eritrea. …

Just six days after sending that email, we received word from Christian contacts in Eritrea that 13 Christian prisoners had been set free! …
I’m saddened that Pastors Nayzgi and Gebremeskel were not among those released. We continue to pray that they will be freed from their prison cells soon, perhaps even as Peter was set free in Acts 12. …
And we continue to pray for and call for the release of the 350+ other Christians imprisoned in Eritrea — our family members for all eternity. …

Hallelujah! Even though we know that persecution will increase as we move to the end of the age, we rejoice with those who rejoice and we mourn with those who mourn. Thank you Father for setting these captives free.
Father, thank you for the deliverance of these servants of yours. I pray for those still incarcerated in Eritrea, that they would be released. I pray for all Christians who are imprisoned in other countries for their faith. May they remain strong and feel your presence and love.
Please forgive my double post. The original disappeared so later in the day I reposted.
May freedom come to all who suffer for their love of Jesus Christ!

vs 10-16
Others sat in darkness and gloom prisoners in cruel chains—
because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the counsel of the Most High.
He broke their spirits with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and gloom and broke their chains apart.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for His faithful love and His wonderful works for all humanity.
For He has broken down the bronze gates and cut through the iron bars.

Dear Father God and Lord of All, You are mighty and merciful and I thank you for the release of these 13 Christians. As I think about Pastors Gebremeskel and Nayzgi, I also included President Afweki. You know these 3 men more intimately than they know themselves but I believe all 3 are in cruel chains. I believe Isaias Afwerki’s are chains of rebellion. Although he is not sitting in darkness and gloom, I am praying he feels despair as You break his spirit and as he realizes he is helpless. I pray he will cry out to You in his distress and You will release him to praise You and to give You thanks for Your faithful LOVE. May this be the LAST year of torment for the Christians in Eritrea. May there be no 20th year of incarceration for Pastors Gebremeskel and Nayzgi. I ask this and so much more in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Dear Father God and Lord of All, You are mighty and merciful and I thank you for the release of these 13 Christians. I however, have been all over the place this morning as I wonder about Pastors Gebremeskel and Nayzgi and President Afweki. You know these 3 men more intimately than they know themselves but I believe all 3 are in cruel chains. I believe President Afwerki’s are chains of rebellion. Although he is not sitting in darkness and gloom, I am praying he feels despair as You break his spirit and as he realizes he is helpless. I pray he will cry out to You in his distress and You will release him to praise You and to give You thanks for Your faithful love. Jesus, when You healed the blind man, he said “Yes, Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped You. May this be so in the president. May this be the LAST year of his cruel chains. May this be the last year of torment for the Christians in Eritrea. May there be no year 20 of imprisonment for Pastors Gebremeskel and Nayzgi. I believe You Father. I believe You Jesus. I believe You Holy Spirit. May the prayers of Your people avail much….for Your glory Father God. Amen
