I don’t see a Biblical precedent for having a woman being placed in the role of spiritual adviser to a man. They say “There is an Esther in the White House”, but Esther was the wife of the King. We see in Holy Scripture that The Lord advised a man through his own wife, for example, when GOD used Pilate’s wife to warn Pilate when he was was deciding the fate of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST. I don’t know too many women who would be happy having another woman in such close contact with their husband. I think Billy Graham had the right idea–never to be alone with a woman and his whole decades-long ministry was never the subject of gossip. What a comfort that must have been for his wife and children!

Lord Almighty God, as many of us are fasting and praying for this nation, hear our prayers and petitions. O Mighty God we confess to You, our One True Luving God, our sins which they are many. Lord, we know You are patient and kind and long suffering and yet how long will You hold back Your wrath against us and against the sin we have allowed in our homes, our places of worship, our schools and within every governing board and body? Lord, You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame. We repent of our sin of pride, selfishness and unbelief and how those have manifest in the flesh in our daily lives. From being self absorbed into our wants and desires, having idols that are an abomination to You, praying to end abortion while not calling attention to ALL sexual immorality which is anything outside of the marriage bed between man and woman. Father, we have allowed for all types of addictions to gambling, substance abuse, gluttony and excess, naming it a disease as though the sin it is is now acceptable to You. Thank You Lord for the gift of Your One and Only Begotten, that whosoever calls upon Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. We know the power is in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Jesus said IF you love me you will keep my Fathers commands. We have a broken, dying generation desperate to hear the truth and we have pulpits across America filled with weak and anemic preaching, lacking truth, lacking the Gospel message week after week. The good news is when we truly repent as David in Psalm 51, coming to You in our brokenness You are good to hear, You are mighty to save. Lord, we are unworthy because we have sinned against You, our Holy God.
Lord, convict these shepards of Your church to preach the Whole Word of God, not just the feel good, easy to agree parts. Oh Father, hear our prayers, lift up those that know You and are will to stand, to stand for Your righteousness according to Your Word. We have rebelled and not obeyed the Lord our God.
May the healing for our land begin with repentance in the church, true biblical repentance, with much fasting and prayer and may we be willing to live out this repentance before others, that many will see the saving work of Christ as we put off the old man. Call forth those of prominence, thinking more highly of themselves than they ought, give us understanding of our lowliness before You, that we may humble ourselves for Your Glory alone. In Jesus name I ask You to hear our prayers, I thank You for bearing the burden of our sins at the cross of calvary and I pray for each person reading this article, may they not have a spirit of division but be United in support of those professing the name of Christ as Lord and Savior, be united in a desire to see the Gospel message to go forth as God uses whomever He chooses to send forth His message of hope, that we would be united knowing that it is only because of Your great mercy for us that we live in a nation currently free to post and pray openly. And we pray for our Brothers and Sisters globally that currently are under much persecution, may they not grow weary, may they stand firmly in Your Word, and we thank You that You sent a man to the UN to call out the atrocities many nations currently commit upon Your children. And we thank You for the growth of Your true church, the one that must meet in secret, while we enjoy our freedoms. We pray for them, knowing it is only b/c of Your Holy Spirit that they may endure under such trial, persecution and even torture. In the Holy name of Christ our Savior and Redeemer, forgive us o Lord, and use us to further Your kingdom work. Amen
