PARTY LINES CROSSED
PARTY LINES CROSSED
Pray for a unified voice in solving our healthcare problems in the U.S. There are many people who need assistance and need to be cared for who are getting lost in the heat of unsettled disputes.
“And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Gen. 12:3)
The Republican Senate’s failure to repeal or replace Obamacare is more than simply a stunning condemnation of Republican voters and the administration….
Spurred on by the tea party, repeal and replacement of Obamacare has been a staple party promise since 2010. It is nevertheless difficult to uncover exactly what the party opposed. If someone had asked Republicans and Republican-leaning voters why Obamacare was so heinous, they likely would have been unable to say more than that “it”—whatever they thought Obamacare was—wasn’t a proper thing for government to do.
This soft libertarianism underlay all of the party’s pronouncements for the seven lean years after Obamacare’s passage. Once the GOP held both houses of Congress and the White House, the political famine was theoretically over. In practice, the failure to define why Obamacare was bad meant there was no agreement on what, if anything, should take its place.
The failure to pass a bill shows starkly that the party is unable to say what it is for. It could not agree, or even come close to agreeing, whose health insurance government should subsidize, or how much those subsidies should be, or what types of insurance policies could receive those subsidies. In the end, the only thing repeal had going for it was a sense of political tribalism, that “our voters” wanted “it” regardless of what “it” actually entailed.
But not every senator faces the same mix of voters. The narrow loss of what was called “skinny repeal” shows this in spades.
The three Republican senators who voted no all were not dependent upon conservative voters for their nominations or reelections. Sen. Susan Collins represents Maine, a moderate state that hasn’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. Her dependence on non-Republicans was well-known, and her “No” vote was expected.
Lisa Murkowski and John McCain, however, represent Republican and conservative states. But each has been the subject of bitter challenges from tea party–backed conservatives recently. Murkowski has twice won general election victories—2010 and 2016—over a libertarian-conservative, Joe Miller….
McCain was also challenged in 2016 from the right. While he won renomination, he still lost nearly half of the vote to three more-conservative challengers….
The Republican Party is now at a crossroads. Being against liberalism and crass political pressure can only take it so far…. (By Henry Olsen from World Magazine —Henry Olsen is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and the author of The Working Class Republican)

Politics is the social pressures of those in power and we know that power corrupts. Lord only you can move in the hearts of those who for too long have only cared about their careers and not what the people elected them to do. Lord God, bring morality back to our leaders, draw those who marginally acknowledge you into a relationship with you. Those who say they are Christian and are not, expose, and those who are evil Lord, please weed out. I lift up those who are further damaged by the failure to repeal this horror of a mandate called Obamacare, may they call out to you Lord in their distress and Lord may they know that you hear them. We are thankful Lord for all you have helped our President accomplish, and we ask that you would make this crooked road straight and bless the works of our Presidents hands. In Jesus name, Amen
Almighty Lord God, I come to you for your help with our country and the whole world. I pray for peace, unity and clarity of minds for those who make the decisions in all areas that need to be dealt with whether healthcare, social security, programs that help the poor, hungry, sick and homeless, going to war or threats of violence and all those affected by it. Lord there is so much hatred, evil, greed, lusts, arrogance, lies upon lies, and chaos. Lord I ask that you will change the hearts of all people so they will seek you and your will in all matters. Lord you are all Powerful, Wise, Loving, Righteous, Holy, Compassionate, Patient and Kind. Soften the hardened hearts, spirits and minds. Father pour down upon us all your Holy Spirit and His guidance. Father surround your children with your Love, Presence and Light. Father may your will be accomplished and grant us what is needed to deal with your will. Father break down the divisions between us and heal our relationships with those we judge because of our differences. Forgive me Lord when I fail to see past the end of my nose and to be sensitive to the needs of those around me. Help me Lord to see others as you do. Help me Lord to be of help and not add fuel to the fire. Help me Lord to be peaceful in stressful times. Father may your will be done in and with me whenever and wherever you would have me present. Thank you Lord for listening and responding in Jesus name, amen.
Our Father Which Art In Heaven,
We pray for a unified voice in the healthcare issues.
Our Lord, Our God we thank You for Your guidance, but now we ask You to make our Leaders do the right thing. Whenever we do things in our own Will everything falls apart. But then we humbly come back, and You graciously welcome us back. Again and again You redeem our errors and shine light on our situation. Please pour down Your Holy Spirit on the Healthcare issues, Amen.
Yes the real problem was never really addressed. The over charging of medical cost. And monopoly on health care. High paid hospital Presidents, we all know you can be charged $5 for one aspirin when in a hospital. And cost of MRI’s and other machines used. The fact is those expensive machines pay for themselves in a year because they are used so much. Years ago during Obama’s first term before The Health Care Passed in the development of an arrival written in a major magazine did a documentary on health care cost and the reason . It covered most of the publication. Over charging hospital rooms extra. And the pharmaceutical companies monopoly on drugs. It may have been Time magazine ? The problem is greed. We need to keep our free enterprise systems but somehow break the monopoly. I believe it is also a spiritual problem. We have used and abused the medical industry and by killing the unborn have dishonoured the field of medicine. Therefore we are reaping what we have sown .It’s time to repent and bring things out into the light. If we want change.
Gov’t should get out of the Insurance business. We have a free market system and consumer choice will drive the market if allowed to. As long as people look to the Gov’t to meet their needs we will continue in this stalemate. Medicare and Medicaid should be supplements, not the insurance for all citizens. The elderly and the disabled are the ones who, since they aren’t employed are only ones who should qualify. We need to stop giving this benefit to those who have not contributed to the system. Those that are here illegally should not qualify for a free hand out.
