Thank God for blocking this display, designed to aggravate and offend. Pray for David’s Tent, a 24/7 praise and worship tent on the National Mall. May God be glorified.

The National Park Service has denied a permit that activists had requested to construct a 45-foot-tall statue of a naked woman near the Washington Monument, The Washington Post reports.

Organizers for the “Catharsis on the Mall” festival, a three-day event next month described as a “vigil for healing,” were reportedly denied the permit due to a height restriction for temporary structures on the National Mall.  . . .

Activists told the Post that the National Park Service used an “abysmal excuse” to deny their free speech rights under the First Amendment.

The group said the service had not raised any concerns with the project earlier.

The massive statue, titled “R-Evolution,” was originally designed for the Burning Man festival in Nevada.

Inflatable displays portraying President Trump as a chicken and a rat were positioned near the White House this summer. (Excerpted from The Hill.)
