I Prayed have prayed
Father God, may Your will be done in our nation and in New York. Show us how to pray for all our leaders.

Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Chad Wolf was interviewed Sunday morning about the latest attempt by New York to circumvent federal immigration law–refusing to allow DHS access to the DMV records in New York. As a result, DHS banned New Yorkers from trusted traveler programs.

At the end of January, New York lost an important battle in the Supreme Court.  From the SCOTUS Blog:

“Today a divided Supreme Court granted the Trump administration’s request for permission to enforce a rule known as the “public charge” rule, governing the admission of immigrants to the United States. The government had argued that it would suffer “effectively irreparable harm” if it could not implement the new rule while it appeals a pair of orders by a federal district court in New York. In a brief order, the court temporarily put the lower court’s rulings on hold until the government’s appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and, if necessary, the Supreme Court, are resolved.

The rule that the government will now be able to enforce interprets a provision of federal immigration law that bans noncitizens from receiving a green card if the government believes that they are likely to become a “public charge” – that is, reliant on government assistance. In August 2019, the Department of Homeland Security defined “public charge” to refer to noncitizens who receive a variety of government benefits, including cash, health care or housing, for more than 12 months over a three-year period. The rule also considers factors such as age, employment history and finances to determine whether a noncitizen might become a public charge in the future.”

One of the most interesting aspects of the decision was the concurring opinion:

“Justice Neil Gorsuch filed a concurring opinion that was joined by Justice Clarence Thomas. Gorsuch focused primarily on the common practice, illustrated in this case, of district courts issuing what are known as ‘nationwide injunctions’ – relief that goes beyond the parties to a particular dispute and bars the government from enforcing a law or regulation against anyone in the country. Nationwide injunctions, Gorsuch emphasized, ‘have little basis in traditional equitable practice’ and ‘hardly seem an innovation we should rush to embrace,’ because they ‘tend to force judges into making rushed, high-stakes, low-information decisions.’ And so although Gorsuch agreed with the court’s decision to allow the government to implement the public charge rule while it appeals, he also expressed hope that the court ‘might at an appropriate juncture take up some of the underlying equitable and constitutional questions raised by the rise of nationwide injunctions.'”

Another pertinent quote from Justice Gorsuch on the practice the New York trial court judge used:

“The real problem here is the increasingly common practice of trial courts ordering relief that transcends the cases before them. Whether framed as injunctions of ‘nationwide,’ ‘universal,’ or ‘cosmic’ scope, these orders share the same basic flaw—they direct how the defendant must act toward persons who are not parties to the case.”

As you pray for the nation, we at IFA hope that you pray for our leaders, who are dealing with complex and complicated issues on a daily basis. We strongly encourage you to pray for our top leaders by name. We offer resources that can help. Click the title to download:

Father- There is a spirit of lawlessness on the rise in our nation and around the world. It seems that as our nation gets farther from you and the dictates of your word we become more and more godless and unruly in our behavior. The behavior of the leaders in New York and California as well as some in congress has set a precedent of thumbing noses at the laws of the land. We are desperate for You. We ask – would you move once again in this land? Would you bring conviction first in the church and then in our society at large? I know that in the past you have brought revival to our nation that has changed the course of this nation that we love. Would you do a work in our day? Would you renew a sense of your holiness and worth? Would you open the eyes of many who don’t realize who you are and what you have done? Would you forgive us for being complacent while our government schools have led our children to embrace beliefs that deny your existence and your acts of creation? We have continued to send our youth to universities that tear down their faith instead of seeking to grow it. We have failed to be equipped to stand against the questions and attacks on your Word. Help us to be people who take advantage of opportunities freely available to learn and know how to stand on the solid truth and speak it clearly. Forgive us for failing to love you with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Grant us grace to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Strengthen us to walk in obedience humbly before you and enable us to be salt that purifies our culture and light that reflects you. Please restore our homes and help us to be ambassadors in our communities so that we are influencing the culture for your glory.

Father, I pray You guide and reestablish Your order in our courts:

Justice is Not Blind

Let none say, “‘Justice is blind,’ for I see!” says the Lord of Hosts.

I understand the battle and the plans I have for you,
are for your good and for your healing and transformation.

I see and will call to account all those
who corrupt the Halls of Justice…

All those who speak lies in the Courts of the Land…
All those who obstruct the Truth and say to themselves, “No one sees.”

I see! Says the LORD and the day of their accounting draws near.
They will tremble and fall. They will flee, but I will pursue.
Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord.

I alone am God. There is no other.

Fall. Fall upon your knees, all who say to themselves,
“The Lord does not see.”

Listen, You will hear from me!
You will see that my eye is keen and sharp and NOTHING escapes my notice and
my call to repentance is Mighty and STRONG.

Do not resist. Humble yourselves, that you may be saved.
Turn, turn from your lies and speak My Truth.

No deceit is in My heart. No dissension is in My people.
Hear the words of Your God and bow before Your King.
I build and none can tear down. None can break or shatter what I uphold!

You who practice evil in the streets…REPENT!
Fall to your knees before Your God and King,
Yeshua Ha-Mashiach.

He reigns. Our God reigns, in Heaven and on the earth and under the earth.
He reigns. The Holy One of Israel walks among His people and He reigns!
Glory in the highest! He Reigns!

Shabbat Shalom

Father,
I ask Yeshuas name that the spirit of Lawlessness and rebellion in this nation and the rewarding of it will stop . Those that come into this nation would come in through the door, the legal means set up by the laws in this land. We want to be a loving nation but also set a good example for our children. Lawlessness and rebellion according to Your Word bring destruction. Help us to go by Your Word and to walk in Your wisdom. In Yeshuas name
