KHAMENEI: THE MISSILE STRIKE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH RETALIATION
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that the missile strikes launched by his country against U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq were “not sufficient” retaliation in the wake of the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by a U.S. airstrike.
Addressing a gathering of Iranians in Tehran chanting “death to America” on Jan. 8, Khamenei said the attacks late Tuesday were a “slap on the face” of the United States and U.S. troops should leave the region.

“Military action like this is not sufficient. What is important is ending the corrupting presence of America in the region,” he said, a demand Iranian leaders have repeatedly made.
In the televised speech, Khamenei, the country’s spiritual and political leader, ruled out any resumption of talks with Washington on the 2015 nuclear deal that was negotiated by President Barack Obama’s administration but not ratified by Congress. Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018.
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, who was denied a visa this week by the United States, claimed to reporters: “We did not start this process of escalation. The United States waged an economic war against Iran, the United States has to come to its senses. The presence of Iranian people in the streets of many cities, unprecedented in history, a sea of humanity, has to bring the United States to its senses.”
“We’ve said very clearly that if the United States takes any further action, Iran will respond accordingly and we will respond in a very harsh way, but proportionally,” he added. “They should stop listening to clowns. They should base their policy based on realities.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said during his weekly cabinet meeting, which was broadcast on state television: “They cut the hand off our dear Soleimani—and you saw his dear hand next to his body in pictures and videos. As revenge we will cut off the U.S.’s feet from this region.”
The Pentagon said in a statement that more than a dozen missiles were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. military and coalition personnel.

Merry Christmas Iran! If this does not reveal the heart of thier leadership….any nations military who marches the Goose Step is a tell to be sure. Many like to call conservatives and midwesterners ‘deplorables’, ‘hicks’, ‘brInless’, ‘Nazi’ (short for National Democratic Socialist Party! Hmm! How about that!?
I found this article that conveys the sentiments of Iranian Leadership. North Korea in a nutshell. Hong Kong laments for True Freedom. Thank you President Trump for pulling of the Mask off more Swamp Creatures! Keep up the Good Work. The church must be ready for the great harvest at the end of the age!

The following is part of a Facebook post:
Messy and complicated. As an Iranian born refugee I can only come up with these words to describe the tensions in the Middle East. The death of General Soleimani only adds layers upon the convoluted relationship between this region and the West.
For my entire lifetime the country of Iran has been in turmoil and has been held hostage by the Ayatollahs and corrupt rulers of this proud land. Iran has a rich history and its culture has influenced the world.
For the last few days I have scrolled my social media pages and felt sick to my stomach at the flippant response from people regarding the monumental action taken by the President of the United States. Not one Iranian I know wants a war with the US (or any country for that matter); the people have suffered enough. But the death of General Soleimani has also brought a glimmer of hope to the hearts of those that long to see Iran restored.
My news feed is filled with Americans USING this death to validate and stroke their political affiliation and preferences. Some see this as an opportunity to express their disdain for President Trump. Some are using it as a means to galvanize their support for the President of our country (I became an American Citizen in 1996). My heart waivers between heartache and rage over the self righteous posts and comments of people who have never shown a glimmer of interest in the affairs of Iran. People are so set upon their political preferences that the killing of a known terrorist is being questioned as “legal”.
What is lost in all of this is the fact that the Iranian people are coming out of a very bloody and tense fall. I would guess that most people who are #StandingWithIran have no idea that the regime in Iran killed hundreds of its own citizens this past fall as people tried to protest the government’s treatment of the general population.
Students, men, women and even children were thrown from buildings in public to discourage anyone from taking part in the uprising.
I realized I should clarify that I am not Iranian and am not on Facebook. This post was sent to me by someone who has connections to the person who wrote it.
Thanks for sharing this perspective.
