Major winter storm named Jonas moves into the mid-Atlantic states with record snowfall and impact expected.
Over two feet of snow is expected to fall in the nation’s capital area, with 12-18 inches falling in a wider area from Charleston,WV to Philadelphia to New York. The impact of the storm is huge. The Federal Government is closed at noon Friday, all DC area schools are closed, and even votes in Congress have been delayed. This is considered a top 10 storm for the DC area. The March for Life, scheduled for Friday will still take place as planned, just as the beginning of the storm rolls into the nation’s capital. Incidentally, the Hebrew meaning of the name “Jonas” is “gift from God.” Let’s pray that this named storm DOES bring blessing in the midst of the snow and ice.
