It’s Time to Call in Our Harvest
Recently the Lord said to me: “It’s time to call in the harvest of this nation.”
America has a deep history of helping other nations and, even more important, of sharing the gospel with them for transformation. Hence, the United States of America now has seeds in the ground — fields and fields of them — and the harvest is waiting. Let’s call it in.
Our missionaries have visited other countries for years. In the 1800s, Adoniram Judson was one of the first American missionaries to Burma. He was imprisoned and tortured, but he never gave up on his God-given calling to reach Burma for Christ. Before his death, he had not only established several churches in Burma, but also given the Burmese people the greatest of gifts: the Bible in their own language.
In the 1900s, Dr. Nelson and Virginia Bell began a work in China that lasted more than 25 years. Dr. Bell certainly met his patients’ medical needs, but he also used every opportunity to let the love and care of Jesus shine through. Ruth Bell Graham, evangelist Billy Graham’s wife, was the Bell’s second child.
These are just two stories, and there are thousands more just like them, of Americans who planted the seeds of a harvest that I believe is for right now.
We’ve got multiplied millions of seeds sown in Africa, India, and China, to name only a few. Even from here in my own small town, I personally know dozens of people who go to other countries year after year to share the gospel. They carry food and clothing, provide Bibles and spiritual teachings, and in other ways show forth the love of God to those who would never hear about Him otherwise.
“It’s time to call in the harvest of this nation.”
As a country, we have sown millions of dollars in both material aid and gospel missions abroad; we’ve sown food, water wells, Bibles, prayers for healing and deliverance, and every other good seed you could name. We have given them the tools they need to prosper and be in health. We’ve brought the Word of God into places so remote that their people would otherwise never have heard or known of Him. All these seeds have changed the lives of many, and we’ve seen millions of individual salvations and healings. All this was done through the gospel.
These missionaries weren’t from any one particular denomination. They’ve been Baptist, Church of God, Full Gospel, Methodist, and members of many other denominations.
According to a Berkley Center article, missionaries have a great impact on other nations. They have effectively improved health, education, economic development, and political representation for those around the world — seemingly more effectively than secular governments have. On average, people in countries that some 90 years ago received one Protestant missionary per 10,000 inhabitants currently enjoy 1.5 years more of education and 1.3 years more of life expectancy per person.
Missionaries are quietly transforming the world.
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life” (Mark 10:29–30).
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:7–9).
Scripture tells us over and over that we will reap where we have sown. This is an absolute truth. Our precious seeds of money, time, clean water, healings, and the Word of God have created a tremendous harvest that is ripe for the picking, a harvest for our nation, sown by our citizens. Yes, it’s time to call in that harvest.
Such a harvest would consist of:
- finances — enough to remove the debt of our nation;
- souls saved and delivered by the power of God — enough to produce a great awakening in America;
- food and clothing — enough to feed our poor and cloth our naked.
This is a harvest that would bring new hope to this nation.
These hundreds of years in which Americans have sown seeds for the gospel’s sake into other nations are making a huge difference: Lives are changed; generations are changed; nations have changed. This is our seed in the ground. This is seed that can and will produce a harvest.
Therefore, said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest (Luke 10:2 KJV).
The Lord is saying: “It is time to call in the nation’s harvest.” Will you join me in doing so? Let’s begin today to call forth a harvest of finances for our nation; a harvest of the salvation of souls across America; a harvest of healing and deliverance for all the seeds we’ve sown into other lands. Harvest time is here — let us in one accord call it forth!
Father, we thank You for the thousands of missionaries who are changing other nations. Thank You for the lives they have laid down to share the good news of the gospel. We put You in remembrance of every seed that has been sown into other lands. We now call forth the harvest for our United States of America. May we see a harvest of finances for every seed sown into other countries. May we see a harvest of salvation and deliverance across our nation. May we see a harvest of good, clean water for our citizens, as well as an abundance of food and clothing. Send our harvest, Lord! This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Isn’t this an important word? Please share it!

Father we call in the Nation’s Harvest starting now with daily prayer to ask, thank you that you’re working on it, and praise when the answer starts happening. Hallelujah!!!
God, through an ungodly and invalid president, has brought the nations to us through unsecured borders! Look, church, the fields are white until harvest. What will these illegals immigrants find here in America?? Woke culture, greed, hatred or the love of Jesus???? Prayerfully make yourselves available to God to share the gospel to these millions in all our cities!!
Thank you for this article. We have shared so much of the Gospel with the rest of the world. Even with the current climate of our country, we are still sharing the gospel, bringing life and health physically and spiritually to other nations. Dear Father, bring in our harvest!
Since being widowed in my 50s I began to do mission work in Kenya and other east African nations. I have seen the revival fire and hear HIM say HE wants to sweep Muslims into the kingdom. HE is faithful. Indeed the harvest is ripe and HE is doing mighty miracles.
Great article, Kim. It is wonderful when we consider the work of all of the missionaries have done throughout the world, and continue to do. Please protect all of the missionaries wherever they are throughout the world. Grant them favor in spreading the gospel. I have many times felt that the biggest mission field is right here in our own nation. By Your grace, Lord, please, show our church leaders how to effectively minister to the needs of people in this nation. Thank you Lord Jesus.
