I Prayed have prayed
Father, sometimes You allow us to be removed from places we didn’t intend to leave. Help us see things with Your eyes when this happens, and work it out for our good.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

The headlines are full of news — both good and bad — about how conservative pundit Tucker Carlson was ousted from his job at Fox News recently. Speculation abounds about what Carlson will do, how (or if) he will move forward, and how successful he may (or may not) be at whichever road he chooses.

But even though such a high-profile ousting has occurred, we as the people of God shouldn’t think it a rarity when anybody is ousted.

I’m not saying that Carlson’s situation is (or is not) from God. I have not formed an opinion of any kind about his situation. But today I want to use the situation as an illustration to encourage each of us to think about God’s ways — especially those ways that we don’t like.

The fact is:

Sometimes, God allows people to be ousted from places where they wanted to remain.

In our human tendencies and frailties, we often tend to think that the places we are in at any given moment are God’s best for us. For example:

  • You may love your church and want to stay there forever.
  • You may enjoy your job and want nothing more than to stay in your current position.
  • You may be willing to endure an abusive marriage, all in the name of not rocking the boat.

But then, along comes the unexpected:

  • People in your church turn against you viciously and unexpectedly. Suddenly, you find yourself in a position of having to leave that church in order to preserve your mental health.
  • Layoffs happen, and the job you loved gets cut. You’re out of work — and you didn’t even have any warning that you would be jobless.
  • Your spouse’s affair comes to light when he or she serves you with surprise divorce papers. You weren’t happy in your marriage, but you comforted yourself by saying that “at least I’m not divorced.” Now, you’re suddenly cut adrift, and you have to start again.

Beloved, all of these kinds of “ousters” can be very painful. However, God always knew they would happen — and sometimes they are actually His will.

Oh, people’s sin is never His will. He didn’t tell the church people to lie about you. He didn’t command your spouse to cheat. God cannot be tempted, and He cannot and does not tempt anyone to evil.

But the question remains: Why does God allow you to be ousted from things sometimes, when you didn’t want to leave?

As usual, we should find our answers in Scripture. And if we look across the pages of Scripture, consider the following:

God drew Abraham (Abram, at the time) out of his prosperous home and family situation in the city of Ur of the Chaldeans.

God ordered Abram to leave his entire family behind except his wife. (Abram didn’t obey; he took his nephew Lot with him, which caused him a lot of trouble later.)

But why did God oust Abram from a prosperous and comfortable situation? Because God needed Abraham to possess a different land — and Abraham needed to be in that land in order for the Lord to set him apart and make him a great nation.

God also called Paul — most unexpectedly, at that! — out of his pharisaical life of persecuting Christians.

When Christ met Paul on the road to Damascus, He didn’t ask Paul if he would potentially like a career change. He didn’t kindly inquire as to whether or not Paul would like to abandon his home, make a lot of enemies, travel for a living, and get stoned, flogged, imprisoned, and persecuted. He simply called Paul; and, in that moment of calling, He thrust the most notable apostle of all time out into the harvest field.

But wow, what an unexpected (and violent!) ouster it was!

What about Daniel and the three Hebrew boys (who later became Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego)?

They were violently and brutally removed from Jerusalem as prisoners of war! They were given into the care of the chief of eunuchs, so they were likely castrated and became eunuchs themselves. What a travesty; what a life-shattering and heart-shattering circumstance!

Yet, we read that the Lord allowed this to happen:

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god (Daniel 1:1–2 NKJV).

Friend, the long and the short of it is that God sometimes allows us to be ousted from things for our own good — and for the sake of His kingdom.

You may have been content where you were, but the Lord allowed you to be ousted. I know it hurts, but maybe (like Daniel) God has kings for you to advise in a different place.

Maybe, like the three Hebrew boys who stood for God even when cast into the fiery furnace, God wants to use you to bring a whole nation to the knowledge of the One True God.

Maybe, just maybe, the Lord allowed you to be ousted from your job so you could build a prosperous business. Maybe only He knows that you’ll be the CEO of your own multi-million-dollar corporation in ten years, sitting in the high-rise office building and enjoying having the corner office all to yourself.

And maybe God allowed you to be ousted from that church because you always would have been happy there. However, outside the doors of that church, God is going to allow you to disciple nations and fulfill every dream He has ever had for you and your ministry.

I don’t know … but God does. And I would like to remind you of this scripture today:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 NKJV).

I don’t know what’s going to happen to Tucker Carlson after his dramatic ouster. But I do know what’s going to happen to YOU as a result of any ouster you’ve been through:

  • God’s going to work it out for your good.
  • He’s going to use you to take new territory for His kingdom.
  • He’s going to bless you and prosper you as long as you continue seeking Him first and following Him with everything you’ve got.

An ouster may not feel good in the moment, but God has a plan and a purpose for everything He does — and for everything He allows.

Be encouraged today; our God who knows you best and loves you most is still hiding you in the palm of His hand.

Have you been ousted from something that was important to you? If so, what is the Lord speaking to you about that situation right now? Leave a comment below!

Thank you, I needed that today. The Lord allows things to happen, no matter what makes sense to ME! But HE has a plan, and I do not want to follow any other plan but His. And Tucker Carlson is better off now.

In 2007 I lost my home in foreclosure. My husband had left a year before, and I tried to hold onto it but there was a second mortgage and I just couldn’t do it.
At the time it was gut wrenching, I felt like the bottom was falling out of my life…But God! The LORD allowing that to happen was one of the best things He ever did 🙌 He used it as a springboard to bring me back to Him (No I wasn’t walking where I needed to be at the time) He used it to show me how unimportant things are. The home I had was on the channel, water on one side, woods on the other, and although it was a beautiful, peaceful area, it was the inner condition, the condition of the heart that needed to change.
I had to go through a whole lot to get to to where I am today, and thank God I barely recognize that woman I was. Today I own my home free and clear, I teach the Word of God on a weekly broadcast, hold a bi-weekly prayer meeting/Bible study in my home and much more. That’s the power of God to transform a life, a life that was so broken and without hope. Yes, ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28

I worked for a company that lied on me and fired me for no reason. In the same month that I was fired, GOD sent me to school to become a teacher and paid for my education! I went on to get a Master of Education Degree and have been a teacher for 31 years! A few years after I got the Master’s degree, I went back to that company to surprise and take a friend of mine to lunch and there was a for sale sign on the door. My friend told me that the company lost their major contract and went out of business. I remember recently when Tucker and others spoke one way on air about President Trump and the 2020 election and said mean, hateful things about him and Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani in their emails! Am I saying that GOD caused Tucker to be removed? Nope! Just pointing out his being two-faced and caught! And now fired? FATHER GOD, I know nothing but JESUS CHRIST and HIM crucified! Help me to keep my eyes on YOU and be led by YOU in my daily walk! I pray that YOUR Will alone be done for Tucker and his family! Bless them and direct them in the way YOU want them to go! Lead YOUR people in true Righteousness and Holiness in JESUS NAME! Amen!

Dear Father God, Praise you for your protection from Psalm 91. It once was shared “man’s rejection is God’s protection.” Thank you for protecting Tucker Carlson for such a time as this. Thank you Holy Spirit that You have something more for him during this season of his life. Thank you for reminding us all of the verses from Isaiah 55:8-9, which says, “For my thoughts are not Your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.” “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Father I pray these verses into Tucker Carlson’s spirit, heart, mind, soul and body. Let him know to rejoice even though it may hurt. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” May he walk in light of who he is in Christ at this time in his life. Thank you, Sweet Jesus, that you are carrying him. The blood of Christ be covering him. He nor his family is not to fear during this time. I ask forgiveness for those in authority who made it difficult and who consented to this decision to oust. Father, forgive them for their cowardly ways. Forgive them for their fear of man and for their works promoting humanism and socialism in our Nation. May Your truth, righteousness, justice and strength forever be stirred up in Tucker Carlson. May he never compromise the truth You placed inside of him when sharing the News. Praise You, El Elyon, the God Most High (Sovereign)! You reign today in Tucker’s life. Praise you Father God for You are worthy to be exalted. Thank you that You provide Tucker with a hope and a future just as your Word promises from the Book of Jeremiah. Bless you Sweet Jesus. Amen and amen.

You are so right that being ejected from a church or a ministry is very painful and difficult to explain or recover from. Being 80 now, I can see it was all preparation for where I am now. God truly does work all things together for good to those who love Him and are called to His purposes. Just don’t quit and keep trusting Him. He loves us too much to leave us in a place of ‘just comfortable.’ Stay on point and keep following God’s lead.

From what I hear from Lance Wallnau and others, Tucker quit because he could no longer run his show his way. Fox caved. Has anyone else read or heard what the truth is about this?
I thank God that a true journalist will not bow to those above him/her. Raise up more proclaimers of Truth, Lord. Amen.

I read that Tucker was fired because of the Dominion Voting Machines lawsuit (the machines actually do cheat) that Fox lost, and the January 6 showing of the actual videos of that day that refutes the lies that the January 6 commission told. I also read that Fox owner (Rupert Murdoch) wants to go further to the left (with the nuts), and that more people (conservatives) may be let go from Fox News. FATHER GOD please send YOUR angels to surround and protect YOUR people that work at Fox News! YOUR Will be done for them in JESUS NAME! Amen!

I was fired from my job over a year ago, because I was considered a racist for not wanting to take the vaccine and not a team player. So after 15 years of being a supervisor, and having a steller record I was let go for this reason. I always said that God gave me that job only he could take me from it. I am not sure what my next assignment is but I am continually seeking him, knowing that He has something better for me as I follow Him.

It turns out Tucker’s show was canceled but he has not been fired. He has a contract until one month after the presidential election and it prevents him from having a podcast or speaking on another platform. Politicians (Schumer and AOC) wanted him silenced and called for it publicly, even from senate floor (Schumer). We need to be praying for Tucker and his lawyer, as well as for our country.
Dear Lord, you know all things, and you use them for your purposes, we know. We ask in Jesus’ name that you would draw all to yourself, bring hearts to repentance and fill our hearts with your love. Help us to love one another as you love us. I pray for our country that we would truly return to you. Please bring Tucker through this stronger in his faith in you, and let him know your love personally. Let him be victorious and give you all the glory, in Jesus’ name.
Amen

My family was ousted from virtually our entire life about four years ago. Our church turned against us. My daughter had nothing but deceit and evil targeting her at school. Our neighbors turned against us. It was horrible.

The Lord told my wife, “The future I have for you is not here.”

We had to move. To a great city. To a wonderful school. A great house with good neighbors that we love.

It would have NEVER happened had God not allowed us to be pushed out.

Praise the Lord God!

I was a Tucker Carlson fan for some time until I read about his affluent upbringing then wondered if he was just another privileged elite pretending to be conservative, so Fox could get conservative viewers, so I stopped watching his YouTubes at that point. I also read some time ago that Fox was PLANNING to go left, i think i recall reading that Fox is privately owned and the current owner is elderly Republican but his heirs are Democrat, and that when the heirs take over they are going left, so i also wondered about that, that possibly the elder died or retired and their heirs are now running the show. When I read about Carlson’s true feelings about Trump that came out in the Dominion lawsuit, stating that he actually despised Trump, i wondered again about my earlier suspicions, so when he was ousted, I wondered if he simply got what he deserved for hypocrisy. Emphasis on “wondered”…I wasn’t judging or accusing him, just wondered… then Trump seemed very forgiving and showed Tucker public support for being ousted and even said nice things about him, that he was a good man… so I think maybe it could have been a divine set up to show Trump isn’t an obnoxious childish grudge holder who has public hissy fits like he has been portrayed at times. The “jury” in my head is out on Tucker…friend or foe who knows, who cares. I will probably never believe another word he says anyway after i read his private comments about Trump. Just saying…now praying: Father, in the name of Jesus, I know we all have been guilty of hypocrisy at times. I pray that Tucker Carlson and his family will come to know you intimately if they don’t already. As for his celebrity future, I don’t have a prayer other than let his true colors come out, if he’s for real or not. There are so many in the news industry who are bought and sold by the left and who lend their voices to the left narratives. Expose them all and clean up that industry and Hollywood as well, and the elite corporations, as I am tired of the elite and closet haters and traitors of America getting off scott free. Father, let your will be done here in earth in our day now as it is in Heaven and deliver us from all evil. Thank you.

I am so glad that your prayer included helping anyone ousted . It is very hurtful when you do your job and give your all to have someone fire you. I have been there. My situation was a bit different, as the person ha(s)d some problems. It was an unjust firing. It doesn’t help you though. Fortunately I have a great sister in the Lord! Anyway for people that are good dedicated workers, it hits hard. I imagine due to the very Public firing, I’m sure that made it more difficult. I am lifting this man up to you Lord. You see and know all. I ask for your comforting arms to wrap around him and uplift his spirit.
Thank you for the comforter that you have given us. Thank you, for your love .

Yea, I was ousted from a job without advance notice. It was strictly money to be saved from my salary and not my performance. But it still hurt. God used the experience I gained from that job to give me my dream job in a Christian school. I established a brand new resource room program and then went on to become a full time teacher there. All the while, God knew exactly where He wanted me. Praise His Holy and faithful Name!

Yes, God called us to a new city & state. We tried to make friends @church, served in 3 ministries, got involved in community events, active in homeschool groups, invited several people to our home but nothing! People were friendly but had no interest in gaining a new friend 😥. Been in his city for over 5 years with not one friend! Finally decided to return home for 5 months to see how God leads. We are living in our trailer & are workampers at a KOA. Pray for us. Love Texas but we are so lonely! We have lots of lifetime friends & family in Colorado. Lord have mercy on us! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I find overall that people are far less interested in true friendships than years ago. As you stated, friendly but no true friends, even in church. I reached out many times with the same result, but I realized it’s the days, not necessarily the people. People in general including the the church can get burned out by others and become standoffish as a protection mechanism sometimes. COVID isolation also caused some shut out and suspicion toward others, as did the Vax versus anti Vax issue. I am not one to elevate any spirit except God, but I did read that a Jezebel (or was it Levithan), seeks to isolate people and trap them in religion instead of true Christianity which focuses on true brotherly love. I’d say don’t take it to heart as if it’s your fault. Also my son relocated to Texas fir a few years and when he came back to the east coast where we live he commented on how much more friendly people are in Texas, so it could just be the area where you relocated to.

As I read that back I realized it might not have sounded very helpful… what I meant about the Jezebel or Levithan spirit was maybe that spirit is in the area where you relocated to (keeping others isolated), it tried to isolate all of us during COVID. I didn’t mean you personally. You are the one reaching out not wanting to be isolated so maybe it’s something you can intercede in prayer for that area of church.

Romans 8:28 is a scripture that I hold on to and often turn to as a reminder to myself; in other words, it helps me keep going. I have yet to be “established” anywhere; but, God is always/has always been on the move in,with, and through my life. I have no notion as to what He’s up to; I just know that He’s working and has a plan for me. This hope fuels me for my journey, wherever it goes and however long it takes.
God gave me a saying long ago when my personal search was getting me nowhere:
I know what Church I’m heading for and I know that I have a position there. I’m just waiting for the Pastor to Return.

Try and keep your eyes and your hope on “things to come”. This world is in total chaos and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be turning around. That in itself keeps a spark of excitement in my heart. Things aren’t falling apart-they’re falling into place. Our Lord is returning soon! And that’s the hope that sustains me. In the meantime, I just ask him to use me wherever and however he wants to. And he does! And he will do it for any of you, too!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Know this, believe this, God is for you not against you. Take courage, seek God’s will and way for you in every matter every day. Don’t listen to the negative voices, either human or devil. Read aloud God’s Word in the Psalms and Gospels. Intentionally walk hand in hand with Jesus throughout the day and night. I have learned this through many trials, and now I share this with you to encourage you. God is for you.

This is totally true for me! I was “fired” from my role as prayer minister at a church because I was “too spiritual “ where they wanted to do same old. Very painful but god mov d me on to fruitful exciting ministry elsewhere and worked well in my heart to forgive them and continue to pray that they will want to come alive in Christ and not just do religion.

We have experienced being ousted from our church. We were even on the board. They started turning a blind eye to sin in the church. We confronted them about it gently but to no avail. Ungodly behaviors and attitudes prevailed and it wasn’t long till we were told to leave. We had been there almost 10 years and very involved. We left with heavy hearts. Yet when it happened we noticed our hearts were light and free. That was 6 months ago. We live in a very small community of 850. We did not want to give the locals fodder to chew on so after a time of soul searching and prayer we looked for another church outside of our area. I am happy to say just recently God has given us a wonderful kind and holy group of family to join again. We are in prayer for all the people at the first church. That God would open their eyes and hearts. That a revival would sweep through there and sin would no longer be ok.

Yes, I was ousted from the company I had built with my husband by a partner who was brought in to help build it. I knew that it was God’s plan to free us, but the way in which it came down was a betrayal and very painful. I praise God for making a way for us and still must consciously forgive the betrayer. God knows what evil is behind the Tucker ouster as He knows the evil behind the Fox Dominion settlement in which Blackrock owns significant stock in both taking from one pocket and placing in another, and God knows the devil’s deceit across the MSM whose strings are tied to big tech, big pharma and big government, and God knows the globalists seek to destroy America and the West with their addictive fiat money policies, debt being the preferred opiat! Is this Mystery Babylon of Revelation? Perhaps it is God’s plan to bring about the prophetic end time scenario. Perhaps He is coming soon! Keep praying for revival and keep looking up for our salvation draws near!

Are our low places really His high places? Whenever I’m desperate in a life situation I manage to be much more sensitive to His voice. Willing to fully obey. Repentance and change become my heart’s desire.
I wish it was like that full-time when things were comfortable as well.

I have been in poverty and in great wealth. And I noticed the latter seems to cause me to lean on other things besides my Jesus.
I get distracted buying things, watching things, doing things that pull me away from His power, His love and instruction.
I think when we look back we will declare we definitely knew Him greater and deeper in those desolate places where we had no man made answers. We couldn’t put our Hope in man any longer there.

Our Hope is only in the one…our Master!!
So let’s be like Paul and Silas, and praise the Lord through it all! And let’s have the world watch and say…“what security do they have that we need?”
And then we can share the true Gospel in Spirit and in Truth!

Heavenly Father everyone who is reading this today, grant them your strength, grant them your joy, grant them the Nuggets and the blessings that only come from running towards You and staying by Your side every step of the way. Allowing You alone to carry us each moment of each trial! The pure in heart shall SEE God. Purify us Lord Jesus.
Like children we hold on tight to our ONLY security.
Trusting without understanding.
May we be filled with awe and wonder of Your ever present help and constant care through the storms of our lives! And how beautiful that little eyes will watch. And the young learn to navigate with YOU with divine wisdom and great faith, being in the world, but not of the world!!
Those little eyes are the ones that are being prepared and will be leading us into the end of the Times.
I am so proud as I watch my own Christian family that does not let go of their faith no matter how many fiery darts are coming their way.
Remember Peter denied Jesus before the resurrection. We no longer have to ever deny Jesus but boldly declare and believe! We are never destitute. We are always alive in Christ. He meets every need!
God bless everyone of you who clings to fear still. The love of Jesus will cast that out! Because you’re perceived darkest time is really going to become your brightest time!
God Bless Tucker Carlson and his future steps. May all our choices be made in love for Christ and be for the Glory of our Triune God.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen

Went into work one day and surprise . . . we don’t need your services anymore. The Lord kept saying don’t try to figure out what you did wrong etc. This is not about you! Rather . . . Prepare! Thank you for this article. Having been ousted for not masking our kids at what we thought was a faithful church was shocking enough, but we were also ousted from homeschool orchestra for 2 years, and for the past 2 years we also have been slowly & passive aggressively removed from a homeschool “community” who claimed to be Christian & classical but has been revealed as neither; only an elaborate & deceptive MLM scheme whose founders are now millionaires (that’s why I disagree with your theology of glory statement in the article—glory on this side of heaven can be deceptive), leaving us in the lurch for guidance, community & accountability as we homeschool, all on top of dealing with an ongoing chronic illness. This is SO hard, but having to leave all these places has brought us to repentance in many areas, and brought us to our knees & reliance on the true God to provide for us, which is for the good of our eternal life in Him. Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:28; and many more. May God faithfully use those being persecuted even by entities claiming to be faithfully Christian to help us all to come to a knowledge of the REAL Truth and repent of worshiping our false gods, and finally be saved.

MonaAlisa I read your reply and want to bless you with an encouraging word. Thank you for staying faithful to homeschooling even without the support of your group now. I feel that in the last almost 4 years the things that have taken place have shown us peoples true hearts and where they put their trust and hope. At first it was shocking but now I believe it has made come to light the differences in where god will use us and those who have been separated are those whom I believe are being trained for something that if allowed to stay in our comfortable spaces we would have been untrainable. After all it’s pretty hard to be trained for something else when you’re comfortable where you’re currently at. I’ve also noticed that those of us who have been ousted see things in a different way and are always alert to ask what’s gods next move for us to get us where we can do the most good. So hang in there. Your kids are being trained in a whole different way for the 😊

This couldn’t come in a better time, this week I had to make the decision to move out of my home . The financial strain is overwhelming. I’m able to move with my daughter, I’ll have my own space, entrance, But I was so downhearted. Until I read this article. I need to put my Hope in Him!

In 2008 I was “ousted” from public school education. God has ALWAYS protected & provided. He had better plans for me more suited to my personality and skill set, or ‘calling’ if you will. I’m closer to the LORD, freer in spirit and know He is there in hard times.
Father knows best!

And God’s word also teaches that as believers we will suffer persecution! 2nd Tim 3:12 All who live Godly lives will suffer persecution. Philippians 1:29 It has been granted to you not only to believe but to suffer for His sake. So instead of starting that multimillion dollar business, you might find your self, like so many believers all over the word financially destitute! Hebrews 11: 37 And some went around in sheep skin, being destitute oppressed and mistreated!

Thank you, Conni, for mentioning that being persecuted is all part of the Christian life & reminding us that while on this side of glory we may not be vindicated, but continue to be persecuted even unto death as we were baptized into His death we have no fear! Dear Jesus, be our strength & our fortress in these times. Use the persecuted to bring many more into your fold & build up your invisible Church, so we may find each other when we feel like Elijah, alone & completely dependent on You. In Your precious name we pray! Amen.

The Word says we overcome the evil one by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony not loving our lives even to the death. We are called to be Overcomers. Blessed are you when you are persecuted for righteousness sake, rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is our reward in heaven for so were also the prophets (and apostles) who went before us. Rewards are coming for us if we stay on point, following Jesus. He will never leave us or forsake us.

Thank you for this message. I have been in many of those ‘oustings’ and in hindsight seen the hand of GOD making the situation move for His glory.

Well when a door is closed GOD almighty opens a window of opportunity elsewhere. For what is meant for undue punishment will be a great time of rejoicing. So fox 🦊 pushed out a great conservative voice: they’ll get thorns and thistle. Remembering the scripture when Samson took the fox tails and tied firebrand and destroyed the philistines grain. Any chance this will happen to fox news. LORD JESUS move your fire of truth upon this time in the philistines camp. Amen

This message spoke to my heart. I was unexpectedly and without warning fired from my job 3 weeks ago. I was devastated! I have never been fired from a job after 27 years of working. One week later, I found out my husband and I are pregnant! I am not sure where God is leading us, but I know He is leading. I am excited to see where He takes us. This message helped affirmed that. Thank you.

May God heal your broken heart. May He hold you in the palm of your hand and comfort you. And conception is of the Lord. God goes before us and behind us and makes a way where there is no way. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Praying for you.
