Is U.S. Sending Ukraine Too Much Money?
A new poll asked for opinions about the U.S. funding of Ukraine. What do you think?
From The Federalist. President Joe Biden and Congress are flirting with sending Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky even more American tax dollars this week when he visits Washington D.C., but a Financial Times-Michigan Ross poll found a plurality of Americans believe the U.S. is already spending “too much” on the proxy war in Eastern Europe.

The poll found that 48 percent — or nearly half — of Americans say the U.S. is sending “too much” money to Zelensky. That’s up 7 percent from the plurality of Americans who told Gallup in October that they think the same.
The FT-Michigan Ross poll also measured a drop from Gallup’s October findings that 33 percent of Americans felt the $113 billion in U.S. tax dollars funneled to Ukraine over the last two years was the “right amount.” The FT-Michigan Ross poll, publicized in December, saw that number fall to 27 percent. …
[Voter] scrutiny has prompted Biden and his allies in both parties to try attaching future Ukraine spending to border legislation. …
How do you think America should handle the situation in Ukraine?

Isn’t this the third time, IFA has asked this question? Isn’t this in the realm of politics? As an intercessor, I would very much like to know about the needs of the Ukraine people. It is close to winter. Do they have electricity? Are they getting enough food? What are the names of the church leaders?
I would like to know the names of the remaining hostages in Gaza, so I can pray for them with more accuracy. I would like to know about any Palestinian Christian pastors operating in Gaza. They need protection.
I am all for supporting Ukraine in general but I believe some accountability is in order. We also need to take care of things here at home also. There should be a balance in this area that can be found. Praying all parties can work things out!!
My feelings about it is NO more money at this time to the UK we have needs here in America financially tend to our country first!
Many of the conservative news sources do not have in-depth international coverage. This is unfortunate as what is according around the world impacts us. Before he invaded Ukraine, Putin made speeches about his vision for Russia. He had plans to expand beyond Ukraine. At one point, he threatened to invade Norway which is why they joined NATO.
Since then, he has militarized the Russian economy. Defense spending has increased by 70%. The budget for “military patriotic education” has been expanded. Children are attending constant patriotic meetings in schools.
Many conservatives want history to be taught again in the public schools so that we don’t keep repeating the same mistakes and yet these same individuals don’t recognize all the signs that the history of World War II is being repeated.
The military spending is 3.1% of gross domestic product which is the lowest it has been since World War II. According to WSJ, “Add the $106 billion President Biden has requested in aid primarily for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and the total would still be less than the 4.6% spent at the peak of Iraq and Afghanistan operations in 2010, never mind the 8.9% in 1968, during the Vietnam War. Healthcare, pensions and interest on the debt really do menace the nation’s finances; military outlays don’t.”
The cost of not supporting Ukraine would mean a win for Putin. This would not lead to peace but rather embolden him to continue his aggression.
Speaker saying accountability for domestic border migrant and terrorism at home means a much closer look at funds that have been given and already on reserve. Media also says much of our own military is obsolete.
I have to examine my attitude also when I read about Zelensky buying Two new yachts, his wife shopping at Cartier and Harrods on the way to those gold plated “facilities” in Dubai.
Are we back to “never miss using a crisis”
Didn’t Zelensky attend the CO28 meeting along with other world leaders which was held in Dubai? Didn’t he give a speech? Didn’t Newsweek post an article which debunked the claim that Zelensky bought a yacht? The claims that he bought the yachts were made by the Russians. I think those claims are in doubt.
It is a fact that the US can’t continually hand out money for other people to fight their wars. Right now I feel that it is much more important for us to help Israel, especially if we have put limits on their source of weapons & supplies. Israel is very dependent on our help since they are surrounded by enemies. Ukraine has many neighbors that should be helping them. They need Ukraine to win. Our partnership with Israel runs very deep and those of us of faith in God know how important Israel is to Him. That alone calls for increased help for Israel.
