I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 3 minutes

The ruling in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case will be coming out soon. It’s not too late to pray! Read this wonderful op-ed by Jack Phillips and pray that the Supreme Court will rule in his favor. This case could have a devastating impact on all of our communities–please pray.

Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)

Many people have asked me how I’m feeling as I await the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in my case, Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. My answer changes moment by moment because my feelings are a whirlwind. More than anything, though, I wonder if there will be a place in the community for me when the dust settles. Will this big, diverse country of ours still have room for me and the millions of others who share my beliefs about marriage?

At times, my concerns are quite specific. I consider whether I’ll ever again get to do the wedding art that I loved. Will I get to see that gleam in a bride’s eye when my cake design captures her vision for the big day?

Will my shop survive the 40 percent loss of business that we suffered when the government forced us to decide to stop designing wedding cakes? Or will everything that my wife and I worked for be gone?
I also wonder whether the people who have taken an interest in my case truly understand who I am and how I operate. It’s really quite simple: I serve everyone, but I can’t create custom cakes that express messages or celebrate events in conflict with my faith. That is why I told the gentlemen who are suing me that, even though I couldn’t design a custom cake to celebrate their same-sex marriage, I’d be happy to sell them anything else in my shop or create a cake for them for another occasion.

Everyone is welcome in my shop — be it homeless folks (many of whom I’ve befriended over coffee, cookies and conversation), the two men who are suing me, or anyone else who finds their way in. The God that I serve, whose arms are open to all, expects that of me, and it is my joy to obey Him. But creating a cake that celebrates a view of marriage in conflict with my faith is not something that I can do.

It is troubling to imagine what the future looks like for me and the millions of others — whether Muslims, Orthodox Jews or fellow Christians — who believe as part of their faith that marriage is the union of a man and a woman. After years of my state telling me that I must hide, ignore or reject that belief, my sense is that we just don’t belong anymore.
The government’s hostility toward my beliefs has spread through pockets of my community. My life and the lives of my family have been threatened repeatedly. Last year, one man swore that he’d shoot me in the head, and another threatened to kill me with a machete — all for declining to create a wedding cake. The threats and harassment have been so bad at times that my wife has been too afraid to set foot in our shop.

If the Supreme Court rules against me, I fear it will only get worse. The law, I’ve come to learn, not only dictates what you may do, but it also teaches what you ought to do. If the highest court in the land banishes my beliefs from the marketplace, that will embolden others to continue treating me with scorn and contempt.

That sort of ruling will also exclude people who share my beliefs from certain artistic work and creative professions. I shudder to think what I’d say if my granddaughter one day tells me that she wants to design wedding cakes like I did. I guess I’ll tell her that she must choose between the faith we taught her and the wedding-cake artistry I showed her.
But if the court upholds my freedom to serve all people while declining to design cakes that celebrate certain events, that would welcome me back into the community from which I’ve been estranged. Those who are opposing me in court have compared me to racists and argued that I’m deserving of their fate — social marginalization. But a ruling for me would reject all that and declare to the world that my faith is not a scarlet letter.

We all want to belong. I’m no different. The Supreme Court’s decision in my case will say a lot about the First Amendment. But I sure hope the court makes it clear that I belong, too. (This opinion piece originally appeared in The Washington Post, April 26, 2018.)

May all that we are witnessing with Brother Jack convict our hearts by The Holy Spirit to repentance and to always watch and pray, stay faithful and never compromise our obedience and honor to Almighty Father God and God our Savior Christ Jesus, this present time is a battlefield for the Body of Christ (2 Timothy 3:12)
These are definitely trying times BUT God Is On The Throne, Christ at His Right Hand.

Brother Jack you are in our thoughts and prayers as always.

Farher, I lift up Jack, may he hold true to your promises, remember to fear You alone, that fearing any other is to be admonished in Your eyes. May he fear You in reverence, fear You in worship & more than ever know that You are with him thru it all. Your promise to never leave nor forsake us! Amen
Jack please know these prayers typed are only a remnant of those that were presented before the Lord on your behalf. God is Sovereign, & even if the ruling doesn’t go as planned, God Almighty remains on His throne. This is the day the Lord has made, be blessed in it

Daniel 3:29 (The Voice) “…for no god I have ever heard of is able to rescue as this God has rescued His servants today.” Nebuchadnezzar referring to Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego’s rescue from the fiery furnace.

Praying that this same God receives all the glory by rescuing His servant Jack Phillips for His Name’s sake.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, having done all, to stand. Now the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost! May God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand!

Gracious heavenly Father, please listen to us oh Lord. The enemy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ mocks and counterfeits what you have established as GOOD – a commitment between one man and one woman in a sacred relationship called marriage. Father we have prayed for mercy upon our country for the sins that have gone somewhat unchallenged over time. We repent for these sins of our nation and ask you to intervene on behalf of this supreme court case. Father pour out Your abundant favor on the situation in Colorado for Jack Philips. Turn the wicked plans of the enemy against itself and thwart it from inside, bring chaos to the enemy’s camp with confusion and blindness. Lord I pray and stand in agreement with my brothers and sisters in Christ for the supreme court to rule in favor of Mr. Phillips. May this be the start of a strategic reversal of all the enemy’s plans concerning the sanctity of marriage. Thank you oh God.

Brother FEAR NOT. We will be pray and fast till this day. We commit to it. This cannot be. Satan wants to promote homosexuality all over America and worldwide I believe he hates and wants to remove the understanding of Christ being married to his bride…This is not a personal battle against you our brother, this is Satans battle against the church..whos called to be the bride of Christ. I call this the Ephesians 5 battle. Ephesians 5:31-32″FOR THIS CAUSE SHALL A MAN LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL BE JOINED UNTO HIS WIFE, AND THEY TWO SHALL ONE FLESH. THIS IS A GREAT MYSTERY, BUT I SPEAK CONCERNING CHRIST AND THE CHURCH.” In ephesians 5:33 and other verses etc we see HE AND SHE referring to Christ and his bride. This is satans wrath against the doctrine of marriage, against the marrying of Christ with humans which is the joy of the father. Marriage was designed as a masterpiece to reflect this masterpiece union. The union and its reminder is a thorn in satans flesh. Understandably so, it gives man the power to cast out him and his spirits and stop their evil works on earth. Furthermore the union means fruitfulness and multiplication. Satan hates it. He does not want the bride to be fruitful and multiply. He also does not want the seed of Christ to multiply on the earth. He shall fail on all counts. Ever since the cross ALL his powers have been spoiled and he fell down as lightning from heaven. No surprise that in Ephesians 6 we are exhorted to put on Gods whole armor. This is war saints. Lets be clothed with Gods might and fight. We can pull down these principalities, powers and rulers that want to establish perversion as a way of life. So our dear brother, be greatly encouraged. “The battle is not yours it is the LORDS. FEAR NOT! CHRIST IS LORD. SAINTS ARE PRAYING. CHRIST HAS ALREADY WON. FOR IN REVELATION WE SEE THE FUTURE..SEE REVELATION 19:7 The shadow and purpose of marriage fulfilled and realized. Hallelujah.

Father God, we are your children. No weapon formed against us will prosper. We have your promise you will supply our needs and give us the desire of our hearts. We can rest assured you have gone before this circumstance and are working it out for Your Glory! I pray this gentleman finds peace in the sweet Holy Spirit knowing your plan is perfect. I pray his spiritual eyes are opened to see the change and miracles coming forth because of his obedience to You. Fill his cup to overflowing, oh God and bless his home beyond his greatest understanding! We give You all the glory and honor in advance because our faith awaits in great expectation of what You will do. In the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen and Amen!

Heavenly Father, I pray that Jack & his family know that many Christians are praying for him so that they will not feel all alone in this battle. Lord, let him know You are in the firey furnace with him just like You were with Shadrach & his 2 friends. May Jack and his family come out without even the smell of smoke on their clothes. Thank You for the guardian angels sent to protect this family. I pray You will restore his business and family just like You did for Job after he went through a trial.
I pray for the SOUTUS that You would enlighten them to the correct decision on this case. Lord, we are trusting You to set the captive free. “Let Thy Kingdom come and let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Thank you Jack for standing firm in your faith and your obedience to Gods word. It encourages so many other Christians who want to live by the Spirits convictions in their hearts. God has blessed you with the wonderful gift of true artistry in your work. As a musician I choose only to lift my voice and play instruments in worship and praise to God. I would and do turn down performing ungodly, evil musings some call music. What your doing is helping all gifted artists to stand firm in our convictions.
God bless you.

You are not alone as you walk out your faith with the King of the Universe. Choice is His gift to us, you/yours as countless in OT/NT, today have said, let man be a liar and God be TRUE!) Our eyes are on the hills from where our help comes from “psalm 3:1-8…:3BUT Thou, O Lord art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.:4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice and HE heard…” Jesus is our bridegroom, we are His bride. Imagine beautiful(us)bride calling out to bridegroom, wow, will He not rush to her. God is working all things for good. As in the days of Noah, BUT God yesterday, today and forever WINS !!!

Jack your faith and testimony serve as a witness to many and we stand with you. I remember a teaching that Franklin jentzen taught in how we teach the Angels what it is to worship our true God. They were created specifically to worship Him. They watch us as we choose to worship Him in the heat of our battles. When nothing seems to be on our side, we will worship our God!! Continue to teach the Angels how to worship. They’re loving it!! We continue to pray.

Call on me in the day of trouble and I will rescue you so you can give me great glory! My ways are not your ways…they are higher and better then mine…

These are some of the precious promises I’ve had to lean on when going through scary trials. Hang in there Jack and family. I stand with you too.

Father God I ask that the SCOTUS will declare Your righteous judgment in Jack Phillips case. Lord I ask you to protect and prosper Masterpiece Cakeshop to Your Glory. You will guide them by Your Holy Spirit in wisdom, understanding and revelation in the knowledge of the plan which You have for them. Lord you always make a way for us when we trust You and Your Word. I am confident You will protect the Phillips family on this steep, unfamiliar journey. May You give them comfort as they trust You each step of the way and encouragement to press on as well as hope in the fact that You have a glorious future planned as their destiny unfolds.

Father God Your Word says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3). Please dear God, in Jesus name, move upon the hearts of our Supreme Court Justices to regarding our First Ammendment Liberties and the up coming Masterpiece Cakeshop Baker decision. Please Lord, bless their ruling to be in the best interest of our Liberty, Law, and Love and the advancement and will of Your Great Kingdom work done here on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!

I’d love to know which turncoat judge out of the conservative 5 will shift and go left on this one. It’s always one. They take turns.
