Imagine God calling you and your family to a new land, a land that you would one day call your own and to whom you would swear your allegiance. God called Lori Meed and her family across the border of Canada to the birthplace of this nation, Philadelphia. He so firmly imprinted upon her heart His heart for this nation. She does not take that call lightly. She was called to leave her homeland, the people and country she loved, and give her entire heart to this land that we call our own.

Lori’s story began as a newly married woman in her early 30s. Jaded by the discontentment of married life, she called her aunt, desperate for answers. Having been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit only two years prior, her aunt knew the answer was Jesus – “Just call out to Jesus.”

Lori prayed, she went to church, she was confirmed… As ministers laid hands on her and she recited the Apostle’s Creed, she was filled with joy and laughter. The Lord birthed in her a hunger for more of the Kingdom. Two days later, she cried out to the Lord for more. In this moment of anguish, she heard His voice, “I am calling together an army. And it’s time to pick sides.” She called her aunt in tears—her aunt confirmed hearing the same message when she was saved.

A short time later, her aunt took her to a place where someone could help her find Jesus, a “wild prophetic evangelism conference” with John Arnott. Lori’s heart instantly connected as Kevin Prosch worshipped God. In disbelief, she turned to her aunt, “He is singing to God. He knows God. He wouldn’t even care if we weren’t in the room.”

That day, Lori had a radical encounter with the Lord. As an Irish man prayed over her, he began to recount her entire life story and told her how she’s the apple of God’s eye…Lori KNEW and felt the LOVE of God pour over her. She was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit that same day.

In Lori’s first meeting with her pastor, he called her into inner healing and deliverance – to set captives free. He saw someone who knew what it meant to be set free. Four days old in the Lord Lori got her first boots on the ground training. That same day she met Lynn John, on the board of Derek Prince Ministries Canada, who asked the pastor for permission to mentor Lori. Lynn fed her Derek Prince tapes to help train her through her many questions. This is where Lori connected with intercession, specifically in praying scripture.

Filled with a deep, overwhelming love for her husband, the Lord told her she was not allowed to talk about what happened, and that she must allow the Lord to do the work in her husband. Someone spoke a prophetic word over Lori her first week of salvation that all her family would be saved within one year. And THAT is what happened – children, husband, siblings, parents and even friends… It was a ripple effect, immeasurably more than all she could ask for or imagine.

AMERICA

Lori and her family were well-settled in Toronto, Canada. Both she and her husband had elderly mothers to care for and they recently planted a House of Prayer. Her husband felt led to make a move to the States. Lori wrestled with the reality of what this move would mean, even though she was completely willing to follow her husband’s lead. In a prayer meeting, she leaned into the Lord’s presence asking why. He very specifically called her to carry His standard, to carry healing for the nations and explicitly to the “keystone state” (she didn’t know what that meant until a later conversation with her husband), where the nation was birthed. He also called her to be a witness to the largest population of Jews outside of Israel (in the Northeast) and to pray them home. [Lori said this about her heart for Israel, “Once you get God’s heart for Israel, it is woven into your being and the two can never be separated again.”] The family confidently moved to America and is now fully grafted into this land that we love.

“I am not a political person.” (How often we hear that!) And yet God called her to THIS NATION. He told her this nation is to be “reborn” and to prepare for revival. Although not deported or exiled from Canada, Lori felt the Lord highlight Jeremiah 29:4-7:

This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the exiles I deported from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and live in them. Plant gardens and eat their produce. Find wives for yourselves, and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons and give your daughters to men in marriage so that they may bear sons and daughters. Multiply there; do not decrease. Pursue the well-being of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the Lord on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.” (CSB)

This is exactly what the Lord has done! Lori’s heart is intertwined with this nation. Her children have each made this land their own. They are marrying “our” sons and daughters. In the last group to become U.S. citizens under President Trump, the week before the nation was shut down for Covid, Lori swore and pledged her loyalty to the United States of America. In the pause before her swearing in, she asked the Lord to tell her again, why. He answered, “People die to come here. They lay down their lives to be part of what I called this nation to be – which is free – liberty and justice for all.”

Lori is fully grafted in; the heartbeat of this nation is now her own. One demonstration of this connection is through her involvement with Philadelphia Tabernacle of David (PTOD) – a prophetic intercessory group. They go on the Mall in Philadelphia twice a year in a tent for seven days in 24/7 worship. While not political, they cry out for the heart, for the womb of the nation!

“Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof”. -Inscribed inside the Liberty Bell, taken from Leviticus 25:10.

CONNECTION TO IFA

Lori was involved with Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce for years, specifically connected through connections at PTOD. And yet, her heart was looking for a way to intercede more specifically for the government. Someone recommended IFA and in a moment an article for a prayer march spoke to her. She KNEW she had to go and walk the streets of DC and intercede on behalf of this nation. Convinced she would be joining thousands of people with a heart to pray for this nation, she instead found herself in an intimate group of like-minded brothers and sisters – most of them IFA staff. The healing of the nations and this nation all entwined with the “one,” as her heart was drawn to the individuals that surrounded her. Collectively, their hearts beat as one as they interceded on the streets of our capital.

Her connection from this one-time interaction grew to a national level – as IFA invited to speak on behalf of the state of Pennsylvania. She shared why she prays for Pennsylvania and Philadelphia specifically; she shared what God laid on her heart. Lori now appears on IFA’s webcast Pray with Others Live once a month.

When asked what resonated most with her about IFA and praying for this nation, she quickly answered, “This is my home now.” She was called here to pray for this nation and its destiny. Philadelphia has forever marked her, as it is the birthplace of this nation. William Penn’s “Holy Experiment” began here.

She spoke of the blessing to come alongside IFA as it exists to intercede specifically for this nation. She loves the prayer webcast leaders – the varied giftings and passion, the maturity… She appreciates the value of coming alongside of those in a more “political” lane, so she can marry her own strengths with others. It allows her to frame her prayers in a way she wouldn’t be able to do on her own.

Lori uses the prayer guides as a resource in her own prayer groups – she sees no reason to reinvent the wheel. She also uses the guides to pass out to Catholic intercessors at the abortion clinics – especially after being asked, “What are you praying?” She prays, leads by example, and shares the tools from IFA.

Financially, God has called her to sow into good ground. She looks for a fruit-bearing ministry and IFA is one of those. God has led her and her husband to invest into the Kingdom strategically – and as government is the pinnacle of this nation, IFA speaks loudly to their hearts.

ENCOURAGING WORDS FOR THE INTERCESSOR

Lori reminds us that God is a covenant-keeping God and because of that we can persevere. Pray for Israel. Decree and declare the Word – it is our firm foundation!

“Also I shall bring back the exiles of My people Israel,
And they will rebuild the deserted and ruined cities and inhabit them:
They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.” Amos 9:14 AMP

We have a covenant keeping God and serve an unshakable Kingdom (see all of Psalm 46).

Lori encouraged intercessors to “slow down.” When we are so busy and distracted, we cannot hear Him. “God is calling us away to be with Him. I don’t know what is coming but if we don’t do this, we are not going to hear.”

She also reminded us to be mindful of how God created us. He has designed each one of for specific tasks and callings “What is your lane? Stay in your lane. He is intentional in how He has wired us and designed us. We need all the people in their lane to make the beautiful Bride of Christ – the beautiful Ekklesia.”

What has God placed upon YOUR heart? What is your lane? Make sure you have time to do the things He has called you and gifted you for. Take time to be still and hear His heart. His call for YOU is specific and intentional.
