I Prayed

In the early 70s, Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew occupied the White House as president and vice president. Behind the scenes they were engaged in harmful activity. Ten minutes from the White House our weekly meeting of 2000 primarily young people prayed that God would raise up righteous leaders and remove the ungodly. In less than two years, for the first time in U.S. history, both politicians at the highest level of government were exposed and resigned.
In two years Intercessors for America national prayer ministry will celebrate 50 years equipping people how to pray and fast effectively for our nation. I’ve been privileged to be a board member since the time period described above.
In our recent annual board meeting we collectively thanked God for the phenomenal growth in the prayer movement today. The trajectory keeps skyrocketing and it truly is a work of our Great Intercessor, Jesus Christ (Heb 7:25).
Pray for Wicked Leaders?
People often ask, “How are we supposed to pray for political leaders who are evil?” 1 Timothy 2:1-3 instructs us to first of all pray for those in authority to ensure a culture where the gospel can be freely preached and people saved. Then a logical question arises: “How do we intercede for wicked rulers, not necessarily on the level of Hitler, but the lying, conniving, self-serving deceitful ones?”
We need a biblically-informed template to pray effectively or we can be misled into praying for the success of politicians whose goal is to undermine our Judeo-Christian heritage and steal our covenantal destiny in God.
A beloved friend of mine told me days ago the importance of affirming our common ground as Americans “who all love this nation.” I mentioned that not all people, and certainly not all politicians, love America but want to see its transformation into a “progressive,” socialist, secular nation. He admitted I was correct.
Everything starts with our patriotic affirmation from scripture, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Ps. 33:12). Our goal is not simply to make America great again but rather to make God in America great again! And this requires the people of God truly being “salt” as Jesus directed to hold back decay and resisting those who are trying to steal away our country one piece at a time.
Johnny Cash Said It Best
The legendary country singer and committed Christian, Johnny Cash, had a hit song years ago called “One Piece at a Time” that can help us understand the communist/socialist strategy of incrementally toppling a country and transforming it into a leftist wasteland. This is what the radicalized Democratic Party is engaged in today and they must be stopped. The classic novelty song by Cash featured a scoundrel who worked for GM installing parts in Cadillacs on an assembly line. He wanted to transform his image by getting a “Caddy” (which required deception ) and he believed he could eventually do it by stealing parts one piece at a time.
He pilfered small parts by hiding them in his unusually large lunchbox; larger parts by smuggling them out in his coworker’s motorhome. His sight was set on an eventually assembled Cadillac even though he figured it would take him about 26 years!
Parts and design changes occurred on the vehicle but he finally had all the necessary parts and assembled the hodgepodge car. His perseverance, craftiness and deception paid off as he drove through his town congratulating himself on how he had pulled the wool over so many unsuspecting folks. A curious trucker who inquired about the “Psychobilly Cadillac” was simply told it was a unique “’49 to ’75,” dare we say, “built back better” model. After all, isn’t this a great “Save the Planet” initiative (since we have “only 10 years left!”) and part of “Infrastructure” needing to be addressed?

“Father, we lift our voices and cry to You right now for Your help and justice in America. We ask You Father, first and foremost, that if there are any unrighteous politicians in America who can still be saved – from the local town level to the highest level of government – we ask You to save them.”
SAVE THEM
• Wake up their conscience to see the horrors of every sin they are involved in or perpetrating.
• Let them experience a holy horror at what they have done and are doing.
• Grant them a deep, heartfelt, gut-level, transformational repentance, and turn them around to go after the righteousness of Christ.
EXPOSE THEM
• Reveal their evil works of darkness to the world.
• Let Your light shine in the darkest places, and do not allow them to hide what they have done anymore.
• Let truth-telling witnesses and truth-telling whistleblowers come forward, and let them tell their stories at the right places, to the right people, at the right time.
HINDER THEM
• Let their evil plans come to nothing.
• Hinder and prevent them from carrying out any more evil. Bind their hands from doing any evil.
• Remove their resources: transfer those resources into the hands of the righteous.
BRING THEM TO JUSTICE
• “As the great Judge of the earth, Father, we ask You to force the correct law enforcement department to get involved in each situation and case, according to Your will.”
• Let reliable, solid evidence come forth and be preserved.
• “Convict each perpetrator, Father, and cause them to be sentenced according to Your will.”
EXPOSE AND REMOVE THEM
“Father, Psalm 109:8 says, “Let his days be few, and let another take his office.” While we do not pray for the death of any person, we do ask that every wicked politician’s “days in office would be few and that a righteous person would take their place.”
“Thank you, Father. We depend on You to give us righteous leaders and righteous government. Let us rise up and vote Your will, but we depend on You to do the rest which we cannot. Help us Father, in Jesus Name.”
Here’s the deal: Isaiah 59:16 records, “He saw that there was no man and was astonished that there was no intercessor…” This will not be a description of our day. We will arise and believe God for a turnaround in America as we wholeheartedly respond, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8).
“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much” (James 5:16).

additonally,in my opinion,the crimes being committed against children are-.. in point of fact- every bit as much on the same level as Hitler’ crimes,..actually ,I think,much worse- and the boldness factor added in skyrockets the equation
each prayer category above is necessary in the process,and a worthy component-as we can see,of the action needed..Of which I prayed.
I would add only that – We- The people.,continue to strive to be involved in our local communities,- because as it has been brought up many times since this fiasco started- WE- are the government,-and, just as was observed on Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire about 10 days ago,,as it will take about 40 years to get America back on track,..it will take some time to get American’s out of ..OUR – stupor..(which thankfully is happening rapidly)..raising awareness of our obligations-and,somehow working around everyone’s own personal limitations, varied as those may be, and they are varied,-and the learning curve needed to assimilate ‘how-to’ knowledge of civic involvement.
For myself,I was set back by the trauma of the first board meeting I went to,realizing that the school board is on the side of anifa-(who was there in force-along with a newly-local {I think} avowed and very active communist man,inciting indigineous groups) ..was very discouraging..and-the school board’s thinking is really not that much different from antifa’s.
I wrote a long email to the boards top gun,a woman,I forget her title,after the fact–in her response, she just ..-dismissed, waivered- vacillated, danced around the topics I brought up, and said..”well,there’s a lot here that you brought up”..basically a garbage non response. That was in July,so I am behind the curve right now..I dont do well alone,-but I have no choice as it stands. But I haven’t given up..Prayers appreciated.

I agree that we all should be fervently praying that those BAAL worshipers, who comprise so many today in our government, that their evil plans and schemes would be suddenly confounded and stopped, IJN, amein.

Amen! This article confirms how I have been praying for many months: expose, remove from power, prosecute, punish (however the law allows), save. I have also been praying for the conservative community, that justice, not vengeance would be the rule. It is easy for those who have been wronged to overdo justice and slide into vengeance, which is wrong before God.

First as intercessors we must let Jesus open our eyes and expose the
the evil of our present leadership as to be on par with
or worse than Hilter. As decades of US leadership are responsible for assisting human genocide of the unwanted unborn to the death chambers of abortion.
We are up against an evil darker than we think or can imagine. That said this battle is not for the faint hearted or illequiped. Those God has called to fight evil have nothing in them that Satan can use against them. Jesus had nothing in Him when satan tempted Him in the wilderness and Jesus left satan in the dust. And this is what our warfare must do.
My point is that we must be up to the battle when contending with an enemy who wants to keep his fraudulent world power.
We must believe that laying down our lives for Jesus is to receive a conquering spirit that is dead set on victory. Are we there yet!
The same conquering spirit that Jesus had on the cross must be ours if we want Christ gloried and be ruling with him in this earth.
Intercessors must clear out the little foxes that dim the light of our spiritual discernment. We must do the work of inner cleansing with the Holy Spirit. We must become a warring Bride intent upon doing His will through us. We must find ourselves at times, sick with love for Him, willing to be all in forever. Saten absolutely hates the Bride Christ.
We are in his way and we intimidate him…we don’t always realize this!
Lord, help us to know who we are in you. Equip up to be conquering Interessors. Bring us up to the heavenly vantage point with you in prayer while we co -labor to push back the evil for souls to be saved and righteous to rule and defend your creation and your Bride. Amen
This is an evil plan these people have had for many, many, years! They are organized, and they have a mission, that is, to destroy this nation, one piece at a time! They “think” they have all the pieces, now, to completely change America! If you look at it, in the natural, looks like they’ve done a thorough job!! But……there is One they have completely ignored. Actually, they don’t even BELIEVE in the One I’m talking about! He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He is the Maker of heaven and earth! This world, this country, belongs to Him!
It is my belief, that these people are deluded and given over to a depraved mind! My prayer is that God would expose and remove everyone with that mindset from office, whether local, state or federal. I pray that God’s people would rise up, in agreement, that God would intercede and bring an end to these wicked people and their ungodly agenda! I pray that their finances would “dry up.” I pray that the wealth of the wicked would come to the righteous. I pray that all their plots and plans would boomerang on them. What the enemy means for evil, turn it for our good, in Jesus name.

Great comment!! The biggest evidence of them having planned this for so long was the 1st message I sent to Biden through the IFA Action board. After the message went through the various websites to get to the White House, the very 1st thing was “enter your preffered gender identification” with a list of about a dozen selections…
To update the White House software with that stupid change quickly shows their misguided adherence to the delusion and depravity they serve. This also reveals the spiritual targets to attack.
Their achilles heel at the moment is the “professing Catholic” politicians (Biden, Pelois, Durban, Hochul, Cuomo, etc.) and their protective heirachy all the way to Pope Francis. Succent, unquavering prayer and messages to them will prevail.
My prayer is that they will encounter Jesus of Nazareth in as a profound manner as Saul of Tarsus on the Damascus Road.
Heavenly Father You asked us to pray for our leaders so we come before Your Holy Throne to Thank You for giving this administration running our government as marksist/socialistic dictators, another day to repent from their unconstitutional mandates and tyranny against “we the peoples’s” freedom or You will replace them with good and moral people who will stop all unconditional mandates and tyranny against us. Thank You Father that You have heard our cries and our prayers as Your Holy Spirit blows (and hovers) over our land preparing to bring down and destroy the evil principalities over Washington DC and removing evil unrepentant people from office and will replace them with godly people who will uphold the 10 Commandments, praise You in public with bold musicians like Sean Feucht or Cory Asbury or Jen Johnson; and will pray unashamedly in public as they lead our nation like the founding fathers established our nation -to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations and that people in America will bow their knee to Jesus Christ and Him only in unity once again as God brings TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTICE to the FBI, CIA, “deep state”, the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches of our Government shining Your Glory Light from Matthew 10:26 exposing the hidden personal and political agendas, making them public and incarcerating them as they are removed from office in disgrace especially over leaving thousands in Afghanistan behind to to the Taliban and disgracing our nation by leaving our own military personnel and our finest military jets, tanks, and military warfare equipment to fall into the hands of the Taliban; and I praise You Father for over 6,000 people who were discretely flown out by courageous Christians who used their own money and risked their lives getting Christians and people out of Afghanistan into safe areas where they and their families can live out their lives peacefully when our own government tried to stop that from happening! I praise You for making a way when our own government tried to prevent their escape from certain death or tyranny! And despicably worst of all leaving behind at least 13 of America’s bravest and finest to be murdered! Thank You that You are turning this around and making the God of America Great again! We are beginning to see what is called the 3rd Great Awakening rumble through the land as the Ekklesia sheep turn into true Roaring Lions changing everything according to the Kingdom of heaven now on earth as spoken in prophecy!

Lord, thank you for this prayer site. Often, those big questions I have, you answer is a simple way I’ve missed. The Johnny Cash song is the best analogy I’ve heard. All the hundreds of strange behaviors in our republic is just a ‘remove one part at a time and reassemble with parts that fit the enemy’s agenda’. Who will see the big picture before it’s too late? Build Back Better suddenly gives me chills.
Thank you, Lord, for this vivid image You have given, Mr. Tomczak. It is an eerie message of ‘disassemble and rebuild’ to ultimately kill our democratic republic as the “one nation under You, God”.
Fill our country with ears to hear the message of salvation in Jesus. May your Holy Spirit move across our land and fill us with the spirit of repentance. You are the reason our USA exists. You know who the hardhearted Pharaohs are. The ones who will always refuse your will and do everything in their power to enslave your people with unjust laws, violence, and hard taskmasters.
You also know who the Hamans are. The ones who use their influence to steal, self-serve and to kill and destroy your people.
Jesus we ask in this day and in this hour that not only will your Spirit expose the evil that is being plotted against your children but that those who are planning these evils will fall on their own swords.
That their planned wickedness will be their own demise and that you would replace them with Mordechais, Esthers, Joshuas, Mary’s, David’s, and others who are righteous and have keep your heart for the people.
We are asking you to remove the evil from power and establish the righteous in their places.

Thank you, Larry, for this great and encouraging article. It is so obvious that we have a responsibility to pray for the deceived, misled politicians in our country. This is of utmost importance. We also need to pray for the people behind the wicked politicians- The Globalist Elite, whose agenda is to destroy America, usher in a one-world government, and pave the way for Antichrist to appear and take over the one-world government. The End times are here. We are all here for such a time as this. The understanding that I have, is that we need to be in fervent prayer for ALL government officials, no matter what their political affiliation. Father, You alone know the beginning from the end. We cry out to You on behalf of all politicians in America. May You be their Guiding Light. Give them cause to want to do Your will, and to bring Your purposes to our nation. We bind all the efforts of the Wicked One to deceive our politicians in America. We loose the fruit of Holy Spirit upon all elected officials in our nation. In Jesus’ name we pray.
“deceived, misled”???? If you are mistaken (and I believe the majority share your opinion) then you are buying those politicians time to secure the irreversible demise of our nation. You see, the public can bear incompetence, etc. as long as they believe the motives are good. But if they believe the motives are bad they react quickly to put a stop to it. It is high time to hear the majority exposing that the motivation of these politicians is the demise of our nation.

Thank you, Larry, for sharing your opinion. I firmly believe that the politicians that we are discussing, are under the influence and sway of the evil one. Satan has done a work in them. This is where the deception and misleading is coming from. I agree with you, in that the politicians of the liberal, ungodly persuasion are indeed out to ruin this nation. I do believe that we need to come against what they are attempting to do in intercessory prayer. Perhaps, this is the reason that we are on this earth for such a time as this.
Dear God, I thank You for all You’ve done, and for who You are. Thank You for Your protection. I ask You that if there are any in government who do not know You, to please touch their hearts, and may they repent of any wrongdoing. I ask that any evil plans be hindered, and that we might turn back to being the nation we are supposed to be – One Nation Under God.

Dear Lord, I lift my voice to You and ask for Your help and justice in our country. Please remove these politicians who are doing evil and harming our nation. Expose them and hinder them. Lord, please help them to come to know Jesus Christ as their savior and save them also. Help us not to have hatred toward them either, Lord. In Jesus Name and Authority, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father I come to you this morning like I have many mornings – regarding our Leaders – may they fall to their knees and repent of their wicked ways now – or you purge them from this Earth! Good suggestions on praying for USA leaders — & others around the world.
I wonder, though, why you picked Nixon and Agnew as examples of bad leaders. A much more recent example of one who was in office a full 8 years and (by Bible principles) did much more harm was Barack Husein Obama. Another one in many of our memories is LJB (Lyndon Johnson — 1963-69).
No President has been or will be perfect, of course. The only perfect world leader is yet to come — Jesus Christ!
Dear Heavenly Father, we ask you to remove the evil ones from power. We never wanted them in power in the first place. We are living among the Godless and the wicked. We need your help. God, we ask that you bring a great light. A light too bright for any evil to hide. We wish to end the reign of Satan in America. We no longer can take the horrors that hi inflects upon us and our nation. God, please step in right away and give us back the Godly leaders that we seek. It isn’t your will for us to be surround and lead by Godless people and to suffer so. We know that you can and will deliver us from this great evil that has come upon our nation. And to that end, raise up those You have been preparing to step into those seats in government Father. We are watching and waiting with GREAT EXPECTATION as we see Your Children rise up and run for political seats, to invade every arena of public life to effect a change in our Nation Father. We are seeing Pastors getting involved and congregations using their voices. Mom’s and Dad’s fighting for their children. Oh Father, equip Your saints to do great and mighty things that we had no idea we were empowered to do. Thank You for Your Word that assures us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Your Word says we have the mind of Christ, Spirit of Wisdom infuse us with GREAT WISDOM, give those who are standing for you in the political arena favor with You and with men. Remove from office those who refuse to honor you and raise up those who know Your voice and follow You.we thank You in advance for answered prayer, because we know you hear us and if we know You hear us, we know that we have the things we ask of You. We praise Your matchless name King Jesus🙌🙌
This is not a game – they’ve had their opportunity to repent and they haven’t. Pray that they are removed. Now.
I have to agree with you Daryl…. I think of Matthew 7:6 regarding the evil that pervades the hallowed halls of our congress today. These are the “swine” who have no use for God. Yes, God can still save and I pray that there are some who can be but….when you look at the likes of who is in office today, on both sides of the aisle, and for HOW LONG some have been in office and have done nothing to further our great American values but rather further their own pockets and tear down our country ‘piece by piece’ for their benefit with absolutely no regards for their constituents…. Yes!!! It is time for them to be removed from office as quickly as possible.
I pray also that none of them be granted any peace, rest, or joy; that their dreams would be filled with terrors until they repent and turn to the One True God and Jesus Christ whom He sent.
And when they do repent we will receive them with joy remembering that we too were once as they.
Father, in Jesus Name, take evil -doers, liars, and the wicked away from before our leaders, that their thrones may be established in Your righteousness. May they judge the poor and needy equitably with/in/by mercy and truth. In the name of Jesus be it commanded that they reject bribes! We pray for Your Wisdom to be upon them. Amen.
This is a great guideline on how to pray for leaders. It is easy to fall into the trap of the flesh in becoming a son of thunder for the unrighteousness.
I speak a word against all spiritual wickedness in high places; to the tearing down of strongholds and the raising up of a revival in Your holy and precious Name above all names; that I might be a part of it.
May those in positions of influence with perceived power and authority repent and serve You, may they be conformed to Your complete and perfect will or may they be forever removed from these positions of influence, perceived power and authority.
Lord grant that we as a people, who are called by Your Name, might humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face knowing that You will to hear from heaven, forgiving our sins and that it be Your will to heal our land. Pour upon us that very inspired spirit that brought our homeland, America, into existence. May we be infused and empowered by that spirit to the renewing and restoration of our country, exposing and unravelling all impediments to your will. May we once again be a beacon to a lost and dying world.
Lord, thank You for all that You have done, are doing and will to do in our lives.

Barry I stand in full agreement with your anointed prayer. Father Your Word shall not return void, neither Your spoken Word nor The Word that became flesh, for They are one in the same. Breath of Life, Holy Spirit breathe through this land again, breathe Life into our dry bones and raise up a standard, a mighty army called by Your name, watchmen standing on the walls of our homes, cities and states. Awaken us Spirit of Truth and righteousness to stand boldly and pray, speaking Your Word with authority. It’s not by power or by might but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts. Father, we fight this battle using our weapons of prayer, fasting and faith.We speak to spirits of wickedness in heavenly places: the victory has already been won. This nation is blessed because OUR GOD IS THE LORD, greater is He who is in us, guiding, directing and fighting for and through us. Where sin abounds , grace abounds much more. Father we speak grace over this nation!! Your grace and mercy to open eyes and turn hearts to repentance. It is Your goodness that leads to repentance. Father we use our faith and ask Spirit of Revelation to come, turn hearts toward Yourself, ignite a fire of revival and bring restoration to this land. In Jesus name🙏🙌

Thank you, Larry, for affirmation that we need to continue to cover every government leader in prayer— evil or righteous -and never cease to do so, Perhaps a short handwritten note to a leader would be a unique blessing in these fast paced days.
