I Prayed have prayed
Lord, with food prices increasing we know many folks could be without food. Show the church where we can help minister to those people in need.

Prices Americans paid for eggs, meat, cereal and milk shot higher in April as people flocked to grocery stores to stock up on food amid government lockdowns designed to slow the spread of Covid-19.

The Labor Department reported Tuesday that prices U.S. consumers paid for groceries jumped 2.6% in April, the largest one-month pop since February 1974. The spike in supermarket prices was broad-based and impacted items from broccoli and ham to oatmeal and tuna.

The price of the meats, poultry, fish, and eggs category rose 4.3%, fruits and vegetables climbed 1.5%, cereals and bakery products advanced 2.9%, and dairy goods gained 1.5%.

The grocery numbers stand in stark contrast to the broader trend in U.S. prices, which fell 0.8% in April and clinched their largest one-month decline since 2008 as a swoon in oil and gasoline dragged the headline CPI number lower.

“Food price gains were robust as we know there are empty shelves out there,” Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at Bleakley Advisory Group, wrote in an email. “Demand we know in most areas of the economy has collapsed and prices are falling in response.”. . .

“In areas where demand has hung in, like ‘food at home’ we have inflation because the supply side has been damaged, whether directly via infected facilities or because of the higher costs of finding freight capacity,” Boockvar added.

Lord thank you for the farmers and ranchers that diligently work to supply food to the people. Lord many donated food to food banks and homeless shelters instead of wasting it. Many are allowing people to buy directly from the farms. Lord help us be generous in helping the true needy people in our communities and church family. Thank you for providing what is needed to feed the needy as well as those who have been blessed. In Jesus name. Amen

Lord God – we know that prices will fluctuate at given times in our food supply. This is a time that food prices must stabilize in order to help people in our nation and the world. Give our leaders wisdom, knowledge and discernment in the best paths to use in helping our nation as well as our farmers and ranchers. Guide them in methods and solutions to prevent the dumping and wasting of our precious food sources. Somehow show us how we can direct those foods and liquids into the hands of those who desperately need it. I ask that in Your Holy name.

Eat simply, and trust God. Pray for good crops and that farmers prosper and the Lord will supply all your needs. Teach the younger generations how to buy, budget and cook. Don’t fear lack.

“Acts 4:32-33 (Sharing in All Things) – Now the multitude of those who believed were of ONE heart and ONE soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with GREAT power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And GREAT GRACE was upon them all.” The Word is FACT and is often CONDITIONAL. Because they shared all so it was well with all, they, the church, was able to be (1) witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ with GREAT POWER and (2) God bestowed GREAT GRACE upon them. I believe if we share and look after the hungry in this time of God’s shaking and waking of the church, judgment of God on sin and much of the church making its bed with Jezebel, THEN we will TOO will be POWERFUL witnesses of Jesus for the saving of many, God will bestow GREAT power and grace upon us with great miracles (EVEN multiplying food like the bread and fish miracles). The flesh says – fear, save and hoard. The Word says, share and I will multiply, bless, and be a witness with My power and miracles among You. The just live by faith. There is grace and provision for each day from the Lord. He goes before us and makes the crooked places straight, only believe. He provides in the famine for His. Only believe. We walk by faith and not by sight, Lord my God. We praise You and bless Your Holy name that Your Word is true and that You are good.

Lord I pray that we will have faith in your provision day by day and we ask that you would give a benevolent and generous heart to market places everywhere during a time when millions of people are out of work. We ask this in Jesus name. Your word says in Psalm 37:25 “I have been young and now I am old; yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread.” Amen

Its unfortunate that journalists write in an inflammatory way. Prices are going to fluctuate just from getting those 18 wheelers back on the road.
We don’t see shortage in the literal sense. People are upset when their favorite brand isn’t available. We found nice discounts on store brands.
I had a problem with beef. I shopped two stores and it was bad. It wasn’t the beef i was accustomed to. I also paid $11.00 for a package of stew beef. It was mainly gristle and even had parts that looked like liver or organ meat. I was so disgusted i threw it out. We will have vegetable soup 😋❣
The store employees at one store had temp check machine right by clock at shift change. So much for privacy. I stood there and watched them. This store seemed to have many stressed, short tempered employees also. This was a first.

I was shocked when I went to the grocery store yesterday. For example, eggs had gone up 90 cents a dozen!!!

Praying that His Bride will discover the Mind of Christ in these days!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He it is who reduces rulers to nothing, Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord , the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:21‭-‬23‭, ‬28‭-‬29‭, ‬31

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1:3‭-‬8

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. James 1:17‭-‬21

This Sabbath Rest Sabbatical reiterates the Words of John, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight.”Mark 1:3

There is a shortage on meat, and the price is higher. Eggs keep running out, as well as certain dairy items, including butter. Hand sanitizers and other (home) disinfectants are still non-existent. Paper products are still lacking.

I pray in the name of Jesus, the name above all names, against inflation or any other entity trying to control any sector of our country thru monetary means. Father hear our prayers. Thank you. Amen.

Our food prices in Boca Raton have always been high as Publix has a monopoly here. They are the only game in town. Their prices surely did go up and remain higher than before the pandemic.
Being over 65 we have to have our food delivered so that adds a service charge, a delivery charge and a tip to each order.
Never thought I’d miss shopping at the super market for myself, but I surely do

YES!! I told my husband last week that we cannot seem to get back to our pre-covid budget for groceries. We thought for a couple of weeks it might have been until we stocked up in some areas, but now that we are back to normal shopping, our checkout bill is still much higher than it used to be pre-covid.

Elizabeth

Yes, I do think prices are increased – especially meats. There are still shortages in the stores where I shop of eggs, paper and cleaning products and handsoaps and rubbing alcohol.
