I Prayed have prayed

One person can have a huge effect.  There are few scriptures that describe this as potently as Ezekiel 22.  Much has been written about this passage in recent years, and it carries great relevance for our country today.  The sins of Jerusalem are described in detail and contain among other things:  “…lewd acts…excessive interest…and unjust gain.” (Ez 22:9-12)  The Lord started this portion of scripture with the words:  “Will you judge her?”  Almost to say, “Do you really see the wrong or have you become accustomed to the terrible things around you?”

This is not only a question to Ezekiel, but also to us.  It is evident that the deep recession our nation seems to be coming out of is the result of “excessive interest” and “unjust gain.”  I believe God is asking us: Will we judge America? Will we become outraged at the immorality, corruption, and false ideologies in our nation that are clearly against God’s heart?  Or will we sit back and allow things to go on as they are?

God asks Ezekiel, “Then will you confront her?” God’s inquiry to Ezekiel was a question of perspective: Do you see what I see, and what are you going to do about it?  It is easy to have an opinion, but taking action on that opinion is often a different story.

God concludes this passage with the verse “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not destroy it.”  God was willing to not destroy the land if He could find one person to stand between the corrupt people of Jerusalem and Himself—this is where we are positioned and can take action as intercessors!

We are looking for thousands more who will stand in the gap by informing, connecting, and mobilizing other intercessors this election season.  It is and will continue to be the multitudes interceding for America who avert God’s wrath, restrain the hand of the evil one, and bring revival. Get Out The Prayer is a new initiative that will focus people’s attention to prayer during the election season, seeking God’s Hand and Presence to come in a greater measure in our nation.  You can find out more about that brand new effort at GetOutThePrayer.com.  IFA has been informing, connecting and mobilizing believers to pray for our nation for years.  Here are a few other practical ways you can interact with Intercessors for America to intercede for our nation.

IFA informs via First Friday Prayer Letters, weekly E-mail Alerts, and our practical and timely prayer tools.

We connect intercessors in new ways via internet prayer networks such as Facebook, virtual Bible Studies, and in groups on our Get America Praying site. One of our most exciting ways to connect with other praying believers is through our monthly First Friday National Prayer Conference Call.

We are working to be mobilize those who seek to gather others to pray along with them through our mobilization efforts, including our online newsletter The Mobilizer, webcasts and training opportunities. There are many different prayer initiatives, but none that is as focused as IFA on uniting churches, prayer groups, and networks in praying and fasting for America throughout the year.  These local staff and volunteers will work with other major prayer events as well as year round in their own communities.

There is a need for intercession in America as great as any time in its history.  Our country needs godly leaders that will reflect His desire and plan for our nation.  Join us to pray. IFA is building on the movement of prayer that God is spreading over this land as we encourage and challenge more believers to stand in the G.A.P.   We stand ready to help you get others involved in praying for America.
