FIRST-HAND INFORMATION IS BETTER THAN SECOND-HAND INTERPRETATION
People want information. We want the latest updates and reports of what’s happening and why. We need to feel enlightened. In our desperate need to feel in control of our lives, we look for help in knowing how to perceive our circumstances, manage our lives, and navigate the chaos around us. The problem, however, is not the lack of information. The problem is in the source of the information we hear and our inclination towards second-hand interpretation. This is not only true concerning the news of the day, but in the issues of the heart. In our quest for truth, we must consider the source from which we draw.
The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. (Prv 18:15)
As believers in Christ, we not only have an incredible Father who delights in revealing His heart and purpose to His sons and daughters, but also we have the Holy Spirit as our Helper who is available 24/7 for counsel, insight, and everlasting truth. He is no respecter of persons and He gives wisdom to all without finding fault (see James 1:5).
With every day bringing more news of national crises, political turmoil, and governmental unrest, it is tempting to look to social media, secular news sources, or friends and relatives for information and answers. To help calm our fears or settle our anxieties, we often look to what others are thinking and saying in hopes of finding relief. Unfortunately, any additional news we may hear or interpretations we gain will only take us so far. Our eventual peace of mind and clarity of thought can only come from one source – God’s Word. It is only when we are in the presence of God, hearing His voice that we can get the perspective we desperately need concerning the world around us.
When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. (Ps 73:16-17)
God knows what is happening. He’s not surprised, nor has He been caught off guard. He knows the beginning from the end and everything in between. As we are bombarded with negative news bites, confusing editorials, and needless Facebook rants, we must remind ourselves that we have access to God. Immediate and automatic access to the real news of the day. When we spend time in the quiet place to read His words and listen to His voice, we can get secret intel that no secular news source, national media outlet, or famous figurehead can receive. He speaks to those who follow Him, honor Him, and spend time with Him. The fact is, He loves to give inside info to those who take the time to ask.
We must continually pray for those who report the news. We must lift up those who have been gifted and called to reveal the facts and provide meaningful information for the good of the people. But, we must also remember our own privilege and responsibility to get away from the ruckus and listen to the still small voice Who speaks truth nonstop.
Regardless of the issues we face and the stories we hear, our faith can be secure and our hope be assured as we look to the Lord and the wisdom He, alone, provides. Psalm 25:14 states that the LORD confides in those who fear Him and makes His covenant known to those who serve Him. Now, that’s a news source that is out of this world!

LORD we implore YOU to bring this bill SB276 to the forefront of those who have spiritual eyes to see what is truly happening. The Orthodox Jews in New York city are fighting such a mandate. We need to fight this bill , it is a bill that allows the government to inject our children with large and larger doses. More people need to do the research on this subject.
My grandchildren thrive after obtaining a medical exemption from vaccinations. Their doctor knows best and knows their small bodies cannot handle such large doses of aborted stem cells and glyphosate which are in these vaccines. Not One placebo Safety study has been performed on any of these vaccines to show the proof that they are not causing our children many problems. However, research has been done to show the contrary. Research this for yourselves.
What is the government trying to do? America is no longer a democracy this is communism. My children get vaccinated if I wish it not if the government tells me to do so.
O Blessed Holy Father, I repent of taking my eyes off Jesus, placing them on the news of the day, and media as a whole. I repent of the time I have spent, wasted, when I could have been seeking Your face. Like Peter, I have taken my eyes off of You and I begin to fail. Lord would You steer my eyes, my heart my mind to think on things that are good, that are pure, that are holy, when my mind wonders to the news on the day may not my response by to wring my hands, but to clasp them in prayer to You. Oh Father, we acknowledge Your Sovereignty for the times in which we live and we ask You to hear our prayers, to change our lives and the people we influence and witness to in our daily lives. May it all be for Your glory and our good, in home, work, community and nation. May we unite under You, our One True God. Amen
John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
