Dressed for War, Ready for Battle
Dressed for War, Ready for Battle
Dressed for war, ready for battle.
That statement came to my mind as I listened to a riveting story from a U.S. Marine who had been given an assignment during a time of war: His orders were to visit front-line soldiers, because the casualties were growing daily, and his commander wanted to know why. This Marine arrived at the front line and discovered an alarming truth: Rather than being prepared for instant action and for battle, the soldiers were complacent. They were relaxed, sitting against trees, with their weapons several feet away; their helmets were tossed casually to the side, and no part of their protective gear was in place. Seeing this, the Marine understood immediately: These soldiers were not vigilant. They were not in military position. Thus, the innumerable casualties.
The Bible says: To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: … A time of war, and a time of peace (Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 NKJV). Consider all this in regard to the present day. I’m quite certain we can all agree: We are at war.
That being the case, we must be positioned and dressed for such a time as this. Paul teaches us exactly how:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints … (Ephesians 6:10–18 NKJV).
We are at war, and the intensity of this war has increased over the past 22 months. Many are weary. Understandably so. However, we cannot get out of position. We must remain battle-ready and fully dressed. In order to win this battle, though, we must remember that our war is different. We are not fighting for a place of victory, but from a place of victory. Jesus completed the work at the cross. Our job is simply to maintain our victory stance.
We already possess all we need for victory, but we must apply what we have been given. That begins with making sure we are dressed properly with the full armor of God. And we must also keep our weapons close at hand. God has given us a myriad of weapons, among the most powerful being the blood of Jesus and His name above all names.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelation 12:11 NKJV).
Along with the word of our testimony, the blood of Jesus is a weapon we can use to overcome every adversary and anything the Enemy brings against us.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth … (Philippians 2:9–10 NKJV).
The name of Jesus is above every name, and at the mention of that name every knee will bow — including COVID, deception, and pure evil. They must all bow at the name of Jesus.
Scripture reminds us of the awesome power of the name of Jesus in our prayer life: “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13 NKJV).
Not only has Jesus paid for our victory, He has also fully equipped us to maintain and enforce that victory. He has given us the powerful armor of God, and He has placed a plethora of additional weapons in our hands. It is up to us to use them.
Mighty prayer warriors, we must remain positioned and ready. We must not be found in any position other than alert during these days in which we find ourselves. We must be militant, weapons in hand and ready to defend our victory. Anything less will bring forth way too many casualties. Frankly, I think we have seen enough.
The Scripture reminds us: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV).
The Enemy is seeking someone to devour because he knows we have the ultimate victory and that his time is short. May we not be of those who can be devoured. May we be vigilant, sober overcomers — just as we are destined to be.
My friend, sometimes peace comes only after war. Let’s arise and end this thing by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

Has it not always been about what our Lord through the holy spirit does-, through us..his spiriual soldiers..and..He still uses us ..after we repent from our sins..sometimes more..and then sometimes less..is it not always about our willingness to keep trying..in. spite of sometimes being down to where we are dragging our selves through? I know for myself- I was originated from a very broken background after being assaulted as a child by a trusted family member.. and it is really a miracle that I was able to be available for the Lord to guide me to a place to be saved at the age of 31.. according to Barna that is highly unusual. Let us remember that God uses Broken Vessels.. one time in my many years-, many many years-, of listening to Christian radio, someone in a leadership position.. possibly a pastor- but not necessarily, was I guess you could say- confessing, or kind of expressing his concern- that when we finally go home and fly away across the Great expanse- he was concerned that all of the well-known high-profile people in Christianity they get constant exposure-, may have more to be concerned about- where the scripture says -the first will be last, and the last will be first… Than the average Christians slogging along on the ground through daily circumstances.. remember who Jesus hung out with.. I’m not condoning sin.. and he told them to go and sin no more- remember the adulterous woman-, in recent months I have prayed earnestly and sought out resources after being motivated by Pastor Greg Locke’ss global vision Bible Church and his ministry great effort in the casting out of demons- in his Deliverance Ministry- to address the issue of how I may be under a curse from this assault in my childhood and even after Consulting with our friends here at IFA.. who had to confess they did not really know if it constituted being under a curse.. but after reading Derek Prince’s materials especially his booklet entitled “from curses to blessings.”. there is enough of that effect of what would appear to be a curse in my life that I could not ignore it anymore- and much to my chagrin I found that the aforementioned pastor was now stating that “you can cast out your own demons” .. and that anyone connected to these Ministries was basically saying the same thing, and for all of us who confess to being broken and trudging through life-not from the ivory Tower of well-known Christianity- but just along the pathway of the valleys- it his become unmistakable to me- that sins committed before us ,b4 our generation.. are passed down to us in the effect that they have on us-, and in as much as I realize and confess that we are saved and our sins are cleansed from us- this does not remove the effects of a curse and any abuse we have incurred in other ways as we are raised up as children-, so the battle is not only about us evangelizing people and being Salt and Light- but being healed from our own wounds-,and being honest about that-,especially in today’s world in the environment of churches that preach a weak gospel-,that do not stand against evil in their own Ecclesia- and are not teaching us to be Salt and Light in the Civic Arena- and other almost worldly mindsets.. yes we are to be prepared- and to do what we can– to do the best we can do in this battle-,and I am a patriot and I believe we should be in the battle- but remember it’s really the Lord working through us- it’s the holy spirit’s power-,not ours..it’s not about how good we are really-( our efforts)or about how prepared we are-it is only about our willingness to show up- and stay in prayer.. and as Catherine Engelbrecht said recently in one of her messages from True the vote on Monday nights.. the lesson that she learned that she heard from God as she was attempting a 500 mile walk in Spain.. Camino De santiago…. was the word.. BELIEVE
Lord help us to stay the course and believe Lord and to stay in your word and to not grow weary and continually repent Lord.. Lord please have mercy on us all. In the mighty name of jesus, Amen

As I read this scripture in Ephesians, I realize that this wrestling match is not a typical one where one side wins and one side loses. In a wrestling match in my high school, each party uses their leverage, strength, and wit to try and pin their opponent. Once pinned or when time has elapsed, one side is determined the winner by the number of points earned by the offensive and defensive moves. In this case it is not so. The cosmic forces of darkness use their flaming darts on every human being in the world with the purpose of keeping everyone separated from God and to bring havoc into the world. Note the message in Ephesians 6 is not to destroy the enemy, but to stand, withstand, and stand again when the day of evil comes. Where is the battle taking place? It is in our minds. The cosmic forces of evil are in the heavenly places and they influence everyone in the world using their firery darts to confuse, discourage, pervert, and deceive. As believers, we stand against them and can have victory if we clothe ourselves with the full armor of God. That means we have the ability of pulling down the strongholds in our minds, put there by the enemy. This can only be done by those faithful in Christ. The world does not even know the enemy exists and do not have the ability to stand against this unseen enemy.
Note Paul does not say to go after an eradicate these forces of evil. He says in 1 Cor. 15:24, that when Jesus returns, He will destroy them all. In Eph 3: 10, Paul says that the Ekklesia is to demonstrate the manifold wisdom of God to the cosmic forces of evil. How can we demonstrate something to them if we are focused on their destruction?
Just after Paul speaks about the armor of God, he says we are to pray at all times in the Spirit for all the saints! And then he says and also for me that words may be given to proclaim the mystery of the gospel. Interesting that Paul starts out the discourse about the cosmic forces of evil, then tells us to stand with the full armor on, then asks for prayer so He may proclaim the gospel to.a fallen world. It seems to me that the best offense against this unseen enemy is the spreading of the Gospel of Christ. This will grow the Kingdom of God one person at a time. This has always been the purpose of His Ekklesia through love and unity.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for this reminder, to be dressed for war. Isn’t it amazing that just last week, I wrote about the armor of God of Ephesians 6 to one of my Crossroad Prison Ministry student. It was a good review for me and in these hard days, we need this armor more than ever. Dear Lord Jesus, help your Church not be complacent, I pray. May we not forget that we are soldiers in your army. May we be found faithful and at the ready. May we encourage each other. Bless ifa for encouraging your people to pray. What a wonderful ministry! In your Holy and Glorious Name, Lord Jesus, amen!
Yes!!! Last week God spoke 2 Sam. 11:1 to me. It came as a sober word. It is the story of King David NOT obeying God, nor acknowledging His ‘times and seasons’ and sending others to war while he stayed behind. We know what happened next: lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and adultery and murder. I felt God saying that we are also kings and priests to Him, His ekklesia, and we not refuse to go to war. We must be battle ready! Ps.144:1
Good word Lori, Amen!
Father God, hear our prayers for Your guidance and Your will to be done as we battle against the spiritual forces of evil at work in these times. Thank You for Derek Prince and others You have anointed to teach from the Bible. We know that the victory is won in Jesus our Savior, but the battle is growing fierce on all fronts.
Thank You, Father, for equipping us with Your spiritual armor and calling us to warfare against the dark agenda of our enemy. The battle belongs to the LORD. Amen
I would like to suggest and strongly encourage those that read this aarticle do everything possible within their capabilities to forward and get this into the hands of other believers, churches, pastors, etc. Even if you have to do a little bit extra work by copying, mailing, etc. to churches you know need encouragement or a boost to move out of “the lukewarm stage”. No one has to be “called” to do that – just take action. With what has & is taking place in our nation, we are long past the period of “what can I do”?
