DO YOU KNOW ABOUT NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK?
National Bible Week starts tomorrow, Sunday, November 24, 2019. Isn’t it a great thing for our nation to take a week to celebrate the importance and uniqueness of the Bible?
We are thrilled to offer you a new resource that we are incredibly excited about—the brand new One Year Pray for America Bible. In an easy to read, but accurate New Living Translation, this Bible features daily Bible readings with a daily prayer for the nation. We believe that this combination of powerful spiritual disciplines will be a particular blessing to you and our nation in 2020–reading the Bible and praying for the nation daily.
Here is what Senate Chaplain Barry Black writes in the Forward: “Imagine the difference our prayers would make if we asked specifically for God to deal with the needs of our nation. . . . The greatest days of our nation are linked to the holiness of its citizens. By God’s grace, let’s get back to prayer.” We would add this message to you, faithful intercessors, let’s get back to studying and reading the Bible in addition to prayer, and seek God to make each of us holy.
But this Bible isn’t just good for you, it is a great gift for others as well.

When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies. (Jer 15:16)

“Believing His Word and Name That’s Above All Names”
18 Jesus approached and, [a]breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them [b]into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28: 18,19
17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17
8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!9 Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has [f]freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,10 That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee [g]should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,11 And every tongue [[h]frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:8-10
23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it
Mark 23:23,24
Believing and having a relationship with God the Father, in Christ Jesus speaking His Name and Word shall bring Heaven to earth. God does not need time. Because, we are His instrument when speaking and singing praise as one Spirit with the Lord. Amen.
AMPC Bible Version
Oh Holy and most Gracious God, we thank You for giving us the ancient scriptures, that we may learn Your character, Your promises for us as we learn of Your Son all throughout, from Genesis to Revelation. I pray for each of my Brothers and Sisters in Christ to spend more of their week between the pages of scripture than they do viewing webpages-unrelated to their occupation or faith- that a renewing of our hearts be a witness to the importance of devoted Bible study and meditation.
I repent of belonging to a non bible believing church for 15 yrs, oh what wasted days spent believing I had saved myself. Thank You Lord, my God for showing me the error of that thinking and for truly saving me Yourself, casting off the old man. Woe to the ‘church’s open and affirming to the sins of its members without teaching the truth of Your desire to change us from within through biblical repentance and faith.
Show us Your glory oh God, and may this week be the beginning of a great awakening for this generation to the truth of Your Holiness. In Jesus name we pray and bless You, our Lord. Amen
It is OK, but the Holy Spirit teaches us all things not scripture although scripture is good as a third witness after the Holy Spirit and God Almighty speaking to us.
1 John 2:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
English Standard Version
John 16:13When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Jesus is the Truth, not a book, but the book is helpful:
John 14:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Hi Jim!
Did you not read the scripture Jer. 15-16? Also, God’s word is breathed upon and inspired by God Himself, not man.
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
God’s word is important in our walk with Him so that we may know Him better, and we ask Holy Spirit to guide us as we read the word and thereby become so inspired as He speaks to us and reveals Himself to us.
