As we struggle with disappointment following the election, we have to remember that our security is in God, not politicians.
From CBN News. With congressional seats still up for grabs and some gubernatorial races uncertain, “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle” star Patricia Heaton is encouraging Christians to remember their true source of hope.

For those of you who are Christians and who feel disappointed or despairing of the election results, it is a blessing to be reminded that our security does not rest in men or governments, which are finite and will eventually crumble, but in God alone who is ever sustaining.

In the weeks leading up to the midterm elections, polling … forecasted a “red wave” of Republican victories. [It] was not the resounding victory conservatives were hoping to see.
One Twitter user responded to Heaton, writing she is now wondering “if the press purposefully misled the country into thinking there’d be a ‘red sweep.’”
“You’re right, we can never put our faith in politicians,” she continued. “I am more and more disappointed with each election, each one is worse than the previous. God help our country.”
Heaton replied, “I think it is helpful to develop a healthy skepticism of all things media and political. Never buy into what you are being fed by these folks.” …

Father God thank you for watching over the elections in the US. Help Bible based Christians to be Your light … the “City on a Hill”. Clean up America from lawlessness, lack of love, corruption in politics and businesses and individuals, the murders of unborn babies, the fraud behind covid plague, Big Pharma and production of pharmaceuticals in China, those involved with goal of a “ One World Government” as many are trying to push us into dictatorship… Oh Lord God we ask you to NOT permit that to happen to Your people! God, please reveal any corruption in the elections that need to be corrected. Raise up many more Christians! May the Holy Spirit spread across our nation like we have never seen before. Let America stand up as ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!! In God We Trust! Thank You Father God! In Jesus name we pray and ask, seek, knock. Amen!
Patricia Heaton is NOT truly encouraging anybody. I truly wonder if her motives are pure or not.
We, true christians do not need to be reminded by her that we are trusting on God and not the government or politicians. That is a very basic given for us.
The end of Patricia Heaton’s comment of settle for mediocrity or not continuing praying or simply settle for whatever results come, obtained by fraud or not at the ballot offices.
Of course we trust in God. We do not any “celebrities” who most of the time are diaconnected from WE THE PEOPLE. “Christians” who belong to Hollywood or are famous tend to be not our true brothers and sisters in Christ. I would NOT trust in most of them, although I do not personally this lady.
Keep on hoping and praying for the remeaning undecided seats. Keep on fighting in the name of the Lord. Do not settle in passivity, to simply say, “we trust in God.” It takes more than trusting in God to defeat the enemy. What good does it to trust in God but not have good fruits of action that glorify God?
Father, may we look to you. Thank you that there were some victories that we hoped for but help us not to look for p;olitics to make our nation righteous. We continue to seek your hand to change hearts and save souls in our country and around the world. And we thank you that you are working.
I don’t necessarily believe that we were deliberately misled by the media. Mismanagement, they might be guilty of.
I think it’s more likely that the optimism in advance caused complacency (in some) and a reduction in turnout.
However, I’m sure I had plenty of company in being bombarded daily by multiple text messages carrying links for me to make campaign donations. Although a lot were written to sound like personal appeals by the various GOP Senate candidates, the WAY they were written often sounded woefully uncharacteristic and therefore I came to doubt their authenticity and whether they might be bogus, meant to siphon away contributions. When I finally did contribute it was in response to Lindsey Graham’s appeal during a TV interview with Sean Hannity.
When I say “uncharacteristic,” I mean I don’t expect a candidate being marketed as a military hero to say he’s about to give up because of the Democrats’ outspending him. Things like that. Some were just plain annoying. I’m not a political expert who can assess whether they did damage, or how much. But I’m sure they didn’t help.
I agree with you Ken. I kept trying to unsubscribe, but the same group kept sending just with another candidate. I think there should an investigation of where that money ended up, and any left in “warchests” should be appplied to the National debt.
God bless Patricia Heaton for reminding us a Christian to put our hope in Christ alone. Father we know that we do not battle against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities in the high place. God you have equipped us with the Armour of God. Let us not take off our Armour. IJN
Father God thank you for who you are and all you do and continue to do for your children thank you for all the blessings that you give us each and every day even when we sleep father God let us always look straight ahead and up to you as we live in this world and walk in this world let us share the love of you with many father God keep our eyes where they belong and that is completely on you there is no human being or nothing on this face of the earth that is worth our attention you see what’s going on and you are Almighty and all powerful you will make what is wrong right and you will always give us a heart of right ways that we need to follow I pray for this dark evil and dying world and all the people that are in this Merry-Go-Round with the Devil father God save your people open up their eyes and ears and heart to want you and want you only wear peace that surpasses all understanding is present that all the strength that we receive from you be released you see what’s going on with the elections Lord and we leave this all to you because as you say your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven vengeance is mine saith the Lord we all we need to do is pray for our leaders that are lost completely and not to depend on the government whatsoever but to depend on you fully cuz you will guide us to what we need to do in Jesus name I pray
I place my faith in God for all things.. I do believe the 2022 midterms election is filled with corruption and fraud… I pray that all that corruption is exposed and that the leaders that we voted for and I believe we voted in God will honor these leaders in his name I pray.
