I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we ask You to protect our grid from the ESG agenda. Stop these left-wing groups from endangering our energy needs.

The Brandon Shores coal plant is set to shut down, but the grid isn’t ready to absorb it’s loss. What will happen to those who rely on this power plant to keep the lights on?

From Fox Business. power grid operator that serves millions of Americans across the mid-Atlantic is warning that a planned coal-fired power plant shutdown will severely threaten electricity supplies and occur before new power sources come online.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

PJM Interconnection — which coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia, serving 65 million consumers — said the forthcoming shutdown of Brandon Shores coal power plant located outside of Baltimore will disrupt the reliability of the region’s grid. The plant’s operator, Texas-based Talen Energy, intends to deactivate the plant in June 2025 as part of a settlement with the left-wing eco group Sierra Club.

“There has been a strong push for quite some time to get coal power out of Maryland,” Christopher Summers, the founder and president of the Maryland Public Policy Institute, told Fox News Digital in an interview. “In this accelerated timeline of exiting from coal-fired power plants in the coming 12 to 24 months, I think it’s going to create a major reliability concern for the state.” …

In 2020, Talen Energy announced it had reached an agreement with Sierra Club to shutter Brandon Shores and two other major coal power plants in the region. The decision was made in exchange for an agreement from the Sierra Club which aims to avoid future litigation or permit disputes related to coal at Talen Energy’s “transitioning sites.”

Ralph Alexander, the then-CEO of Talen Energy, said at the time that his company’s move was part of its transition to green energy and its broader environmental, social and governance (ESG)-focused future. According to the company’s current ESG commitments, it plans to entirely eliminate the use of coal in its wholly-owned generation facilities like Brandon Shores, which generate more than 5,000 megawatts of power nationwide.

However, according to PJM Interconnection, prematurely shutting down Brandon Shores — which has a capacity of 1,295 megawatts, enough to power more than a million homes — would spark an imbalance in the grid. Shuttering such a vital power source requires the regional grid operator to divert electricity generated elsewhere, but transmission upgrades in Maryland aren’t expected to be finished until 2028, three years after the planned Brandon Shores closure. …

Because of the tight timeframe, PJM has requested that Brandon Shores remains in operation through 2028 under a so-called Reliability Must-Run Agreement until transmission upgrades are completed. However, Shields noted Talen Energy’s agreement with Sierra Club prevents such an agreement from moving forward. …

Both PJM and Talen Energy confirmed they are currently engaged in negotiations with the Sierra Club and Maryland state officials to find a solution. …

Earlier this month, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) intervened and greenlighted PJM’s nearly $800 million emergency plan for transmission upgrades to blunt the Brandon Shores closure.

FERC Commissioner Mark Christie said on Nov. 8 that, without proper upgrades, the shutdown could cause “severe voltage collapse in Baltimore and the surrounding zones, including Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania,” adding such a scenario would be “potentially catastrophic.” …

Democratic Gov. Wes Moore, who entered office in January, has called for the state’s power grid to be entirely powered by green energy by 2035 through reducing energy consumption and “supercharging investments” in wind and solar developments. …

The Sierra club is one of the most “dangerous environmental” groups allowed to exist. We need to pray not only for the power plant NOT to shut down but for deep investigation into Sierra club practices & who is financing them.

Also need to find out if ANY of these people live in the effected area, subject to blackouts and brownouts.

Father God please open the eyes 👀 of those who can prevent coal plants shutting down. Among them let there be Christians who will pray against and act against this disastrous plan. Let coal plants and similar energy sources be phased out gradually if it’s really needed to do things like that, but please God let the replacement technology be up and successfully running first !! Our far left leaders are determined to destroy this country in favor of Global Reset. May God totally forbid this sabotage!! May the USA 🇺🇸 truly repent of the many sins of the American people. Thank you, Father In Jesus’s Name. ⛪️

Father, protect us from government officials that do not like our nation as it is and work to destroy our freedoms for one world government. I pray for officials that will love and protect our nation and children. May we look to you and trust you in these evil times. May we be faithful to pray and witness to your plan of salvation.

The areas affected by the shutdown of the coal plant are deep blue. They voted heavily for democratic candidates that support shutting down fossil fuel power plants. I hope that they will repent their support of the Democratic Party when they have blackouts and sky high electricity bills.

And THEY will be freezing in the dark when these plants are shut down.

There is some merit regarding the attempt to make coal fired generators obsolete. However, before anything is done about this, one needs to (a) calculate how much electricity is being used right now and (b) the shortfall of shutting down existing coal fired electrical plants. The idea is to PLAN for ever increasing amounts of electricity being used over time. Thus, if not coal, then what? You just cannot make something up nor negate the normal, necessary use of electricity at any given time.

Perhaps they could switch to Natural gas.

🙏 *Thank you Lord for the carbon atom, which seems uniquely designed for life and even energy transfer hydrocarbons. Perhaps you are allowing our abdication of your good gift —and trust in your providence regarding carbon dioxide— in order to remove your blessing and prosperity from a generation who seeks what is right in their own eyes and does not seek the to see your face, God of Jacob. Please have mercy and accomplish your work. If spread of the gospel would be hindered by this shutdown, please allow there to be sufficient power that these people might be provided for both materially and spiritually. In any case, please provide for them. Because of Jesus, amen.*

Coal’s sulfur emissions can affect others, though this can be somewhat filtered. Other coal plants that were planned for decommission, were extended because of this very reason, if I’m not mistaken. And another domestic coal power plant was transitioned to natural gas, which does not have the same kind of sulfur emissions problem (acid rain, etc) and has negligible CO2 emissions, if that matters. (There’s some hubris in trusting our greenhouse-gas-to-climate-change models at this point, but the main evil I see is abandoning the value of maintaining human life in favor of the earth-religion-like assumption that globally nature must not ever change. Is it assumed that global warming wouldn’t be a net good for human populations?

I live in Hawaii and these socialist marxist that run Hawaii shut down the only fuel powered power plant, before any other power source was up and running. And this is why we have the highest electric rates in the country.
These leaders only want to hurt the people. We must vote Trump into office to save America.
I Pray to God that Trump is re-elected and we change the voting deep state system to paper ballots.

Precious Yeshua
Pray for our nation to be restored with leaders who understand all this globalism is not what your plan for life is. You have given our country sustaining environment. You gave our nation “life” with our forefathers being granted guidance through your wisdom. Globalists are only interested in destroying your creation. Lord remove the blinders from their eyes that satan has put upon them. Turn their hearts and thoughts towards You. Show the sinfulness of their way. In your precious name we pray. Amrn

I’m thankful for several people who have commented, that seem to have the knowledge base to pray with understanding and wisdom regarding this situation. LORD, we cry out to You, for green energy proponents are trying to hijack our utility infrastructure and as a result could endanger many lives – with either misguided or malicious intent. Please intervene!

Father I pray in the name of Jesus that you expose these people who voted for the green energy. I ask Lord you stop this agenda from taking place in Jesus name. For those of us who loose power, that God you would perform a miracle to keep them warm during this winter season. Put repentance in these peoples heart . Let revival take place. Holy Spirit up root this controlling spirit in Jesus name. You give us the keys to the kingdom, what ever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. What we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. We declare this in Jesus name!!!

This is utter foolishness because EV and conversions to battery all require recharging that can only be supplied thru coal energy production at that capacity requirement. Solar and wind capacities are already proven to be failed systems – look atTexas in the winter crises of a few years ago.. US energy production is the cleanest in the world. I encourage everyone who supports shutting down this coal plant live in China for 6 months with their polluted air and water failed policies to wake up to America literally is the leader in innovation for clean burning coal and oil capacity.

Why is this plant and the government going along with this? How could the public good not take precedence just like when eminent domain is stealing someone’s home or land? Surely the overwhelming public good should take first thought over this green issue that has no actual science to back up their claims! Dear LORD please shut these greenies down and expose their agenda which is monetary and control, not care for the environment or people. Please protect all of the people that are in line to lose power from this action! Please help YOUR people in JESUS MIGHTY NAME! Amen!

I worked in electrical power generation for 35-40 years. Building a new large generation plant requires money, time, variety of equipment, expertise, permitting, material, construction, commissioning, and an energy supply. I can easily imagine that a new 1,000-megawatt facility could take 4-6 years, longer if there a permitting, material supply, and/or construction problems.
Exodus 18:21 specifies that one of the 4 or 5 requirements for a person being in authority is that they are “able” … meaning competent to make good decisions with the necessary administrative ability to implement them in the case of Gov Moore. Another requirement is that the official is a person of truth. Pray accordingly that Gov Moore will truthfully communicate his plan.
