I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Pray for our society to become sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s conviction of sin. May we, the Church, be people who are quick to apologize for our misdeeds and sins and ready to forgive others for their’s.

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. (2 Cor 7:10)

Apologies are so on trend right now. In the span of a week, Bill Maher, Kathy Griffin and Piers Morgan have all said sorry, even though the three provocateurs normally revel in making people uncomfortable.

What gives? . . .

The proliferation of apologies these days is most likely compelled by social media; if outraged Twitter users have taught us anything, it’s that there’s no shortage of things to atone for.

But not everyone expresses remorse. Or, at least, they didn’t used to. . . .

Griffin’s apology last week, however, was unequivocal. (Excerpted from The Washington Post, commentary by Stephanie Merry.)

Almighty God, we love You and Praise You for your Mercy, Love and Faithfulness. Father, You tell us to love one another and pray for our enemies. Father I ask for your help. Help us to pray for those who have bought into the lies of the enemy, who are filled with malice, hate, discontent and can no longer distinguish right from wrong. Please give us, those who believe in you and your Word, the wisdom and strength not to fall pray to the enemy BUT to love those who are lost and pray for them, that the prayers of the Saints will help them to gain wisdom to see the error of their ways and embrace goodness, righteousness and above all You, our sovereign God. May they find peace and not fear, learn to accept the things they can not change and change the things they can and above all have eyes to see, a heart to understand and a mind to perceive The Great I AM. In Jesus name, amen

I do forgive, but I do not have to accept those celebrities back into the limelight. I do not have to further their causes with any monetery support or support of any kind. I forgive them, but because of their past record, I remain wary of them and unless their future behavior proves their apology is heart-felt and life-changing, I steer clear of them in every way! Without sincere change, they will never have my support. We forgive for our sake.

It really bothers me that when the person I believe should be elected to office is beat & I’m expected to accept it as the way our democracy works & to live with it in spite of the things being done by the gov’t that I don’t agree in. Yet, you let my person get elected the opponents refuse to work with them & fight everything the try to accomplish all while they are in office. What kind of society have we raised? Where is the fairness in working with others when they won’t work with you? What has happened to showing respect to each other for their beliefs which includes our governing officials?

Our society has really slid into a state of disrespect for each other & a refusal to work with each other to get things done for the good of the whole community.

HOW SAD ! ! !

The only time it would be a step in the right direction is if the apologies are sincere. Celebrities by their very natures are unable to be sincere. Sincerity requires integrity, another quality lacking in celebrities. They are used when their behavior receives more backlash than they anticipated. We as Christians are expected to accept said apology and wipe the slate clean. We are told to be gentle as doves and wise as serpents. Matthew 10:16. If you have every observed doves, they are non to gentle. They are pushy and blustery. All this said to say, “Dontrust the celebrities.
