Recently, I saw this video shared on a friend’s Facebook page. I was quite curious at the title: Indiana Teacher Fired for Posting Article About Indoctrination Taking Place in the Schools (this article continues below the video).

After watching this teacher share how she was fired recently, I begin to wonder what was behind her story. Notice the purple T-shirt that she’s wearing. This purple T-shirt is representative of a group that is trying to help parents and leaders understand the growing danger in our public school system.

I am familiar with these training programs as I have a family member who has been under pressure from “deep equity training” in a public school setting.

Are you familiar with the term “deep equity training?” That (and probably several other programs that are being used nationwide) is what this teacher and the group that she is representing is concerned about.

In writing this, my purpose is two-fold. I want to bring awareness to you of these programs going on all around America, and secondly, I hope to make you curious about this issue so you’ll do some investigative work in your own local areas.

I’m going to share some links that should help you become familiar with this very disturbing issue.

I would agree with his teacher: there are forces at work to utterly brainwash our children, and they are processing their techniques through very manipulative methods.

How are we as believers to view this training? Should we be concerned?

Obviously, we could analyze this issue and find many layers of problems. As I’ve been thinking about it, I wanted to share with you my top-five concerns, with some suggestions for action. Perhaps you will find others that are even more disconcerting:

1 – How is it that an outside private corporation is wielding this much influence in our local school systems? They are obviously peddling an ideology that embraces progressive leftist ideas. How is it that the local school districts are able to fund this process, and why is this their priority toward funding? This seems like a good question to be raised in local school board meetings. Do we have any readers on this email list who are attending local school board meetings?

2 – What about our Christian teachers? We know that in many situations their hands are tied in the curricula that they must teach. But what if it is not just the curriculum itself but rather the indoctrinating process they find dangerous and objectionable? Are we ready to step up and support them, or we expecting them to have their job on the line as we the citizens of our communities let them be fed to the lions. They need our prayers like never before.

3 – Who is watching your local school? Do we even know what’s going on with our kids? This training is designed to be subliminal and subtle. If we’re thinking that our children will come home and tell us about it, we don’t understand the goals. If you have children in the public school setting, it is your responsibility as a parent to know what is happening to them. And obviously, when you read about this program, it will by very nature be tricky to figure out. Being willing to ask questions will take a time commitment, but there really is no choice if we are to responsibly supervise our children and their education.

4 – If we find out that this kind of program, as well as other forms of perverse sexuality training, are happening in our local school schools with our children present, can we in good conscience leave them in such a system? Where is that line of parental responsibility before the Lord? We can raise our concerns, we can protest, we can even get involved and talk to the teachers, but if we are losing our children to this indoctrination effort, where will that end? Private Christian education or homeschooling should be supported in our local communities for parents who no longer can leave their children in the government programs.

5 – Why is this story being so slow to circulate? I consider myself to have a finger on the pulse fairly well, but I have seen very little about deep equity training; that concerns me. It is a very complicated story to get to the bottom of, but we have no choice but to find out what’s going on here and bring it to the light. I’m amazed that sometimes even those with alternate world views than my biblical worldview really do not like to have ideologies crammed down their throats or toward their children. Perhaps we need to be the ones who are asking the questions and raising awareness. (You can do that by sharing this article.)

We have frequently drawn lessons from people in the past who wanted to revolutionize whole societies. According to Hitler and others, the first course of action is to grab the minds of the children.

The question is not whether that is happening; we know that it is. The real question is whether we as the body of Christ will gather any more courage to say no.

“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Dt 6:7)
